Informational and fun!
Love the podcast! The hosts present information and fun facts in an engaging and upbeat manner. I learn something new about our National Parks from each episode! Thank you!

This couple is so fun and informational!!!
I heard one episode, and had to go back to the beginning and listen to every one. I grew up camping and hiking in the North Georgia Mtns. I have been to some national parks in the South East and a few out West. But I will not go on another trip without one of Ash’s itineraries. I especially love learning in the Fun Facts episodes. John is so interesting, and presents scientific things in fun ways to easily understand and enjoy. To John - I can never look at a sidewalk again with seeing “Worm Jerky” !!!! 💖💖💖 Love, Meg from Georgia

Love the park info…the movie/ hero stuff not so much
I really like the information that is provided about the national parks. I feel that you give good ideas, suggestions and information. I also like how you two can have differing opinions and are willing to share that. However, I can’t listen anymore to the connection between national parks and superheros so I’m taking a break for a while. I love Capital Reef and feel as you do that it’s underrated but I had to get 10 minutes in to hear anything about the park.

Informative and entertaining!
This podcast is fantastic! It’s informative and entertaining. Also, my family has traveled to several parks and has used a few different guides. We have found Ash’s guides to be very helpful and definitely worth the investment!

I love this podcast. Ash and John are very informative and smart without some of the annoying things that go along with a lot of podcasts. They have inspired me and my husband to visit more national parks! Thank you!

My whole family loves it!
We all love learning about the national parks and helping to plan our trips. And we love the banter between Ash and John! Today we are listening to the Hot Springs fun facts as we drive to Hot Springs National Park. It is getting us even more excited for the park!

Must listen for trip planning and fans of the Parks!
My family loves the parks and this podcast has been a huge help as we plan our trips. Just now we are planning for next summer and I am taking notes while listening. Ash and John are knowledgeable and honest. I listen every time a new episode drops, review past episodes for ideas and hit up their site for resources.

Great Podcast and Resource
I’ve been listening to Ash and John’s podcast for over a year now (thanks for the reminder to rate and leave a review), and I just love listening to them. I listen to them while I’m in the car driving and pretending I’m headed on adventures when I’m really driving to the grocery store or work. But I’ve made it a goal to visit all the national parks by my late 50s, and love all the tips and information they provide to help maximize my time in the parks. I’m planning a big trip next year to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons (maybe +Glacier but think that’s too much in 7 days) and I know I’ll be using their itineraries. Their master list has already been incredibly helpful in trying to pre-plan a lot of things including where to start on lodging. Can’t wait to continue listening to their entertaining podcast! And John, this is for you - your talk about LOTR actually made me want to re-watch all of them including The Hobbit so I understand the references and now I’m a big fan of that world, so thanks! 😂

Love the show!
Ash and John do a fantastic job with this podcast. Easy to listen to and moves at a great pace. Normally wouldn’t be my type of podcast, I listen to primarily sports podcast but I thoroughly enjoy this one. Keep up the great work!

Best podcast ever
I love to listen to the podcasts when they come out but I really enjoy re-listening to them as we are planning trips and driving to the parks.

Great podcast
I’ve been listening to this podcast for a few years. The hosts are great and they have a real love for our national parks. One suggestion: it would be helpful if they could spell out some of the park names and attractions that don’t have obvious spellings, especially the indigenous names. I like to look up the locations as I listen. Thanks for all the great national park info!

I love this podcast and listen to every episode! Definitely listen if you’re planning a trip to a national park. Ash and John, thanks for all that y’all share!

Fun and informative!
Ash and John provide great info and are a delight to listen to. What a couple of cuties! Can't wait to use their essential tips to make our visits to the National Parks even better.

Perfect to Prep for Full Park Enjoyment!
My parents and I listened to these podcasts in between each park on our Grand Circle road trip! They helped us to enjoy more of each park and know what to be looking for! Sometimes we would try to listen to other national parks podcasts and always came back here. In the words of my other “go back to Dirt in My Shoes- they have actually been to the parks unlike the other podcasters who are just reading the things they found online!”

Great Resource
I have been listening to this podcast for over a year and love it! We recently bought a Yosemite itinerary and thank goodness because you kept us up to date on needing to get a day pass. I love all the free resources too including the camping excel file, national parks by month and the camping list! Thank you for your wealth of knowledge!

I really love your podcast for vicarious travel. And I’m really jealous of your summer plans. We are lucky to hit one park in a summer, let alone all the ones you listed today.

Grand circle
I must have listened to this episode about a dozen times in preparation before and again after for future return trip to the great parks and sites along the way. We drove all the way from Nashville, TN and back and saw so much . Thanks to DIMS Ash and John for helping us learn and plan. I can’t wait to go back. We recently visited Yellowstone for a week but we flew this time. We missed getting over to Grand Tetons. I guess we’ll have to go back out that way

Best National Parks Podcast
Dirt In My Shoes is the perfect combination of both providing great information while also being entertaining. This is actually the only podcast (of any genre) where I have listened to all of the episodes…some of them multiple times. We’ve used their advice and itineraries on a few of our trips and found it to be INVALUABLE. One funny thing I’ve come to realize is that aside from using this podcast to plan my NP trips…..listening to Ash and John is like “comfort food” for my mental health as well. Listening to these podcasts just makes me happy. Keep it up Ash and John!

I love this podcast! The hosts are so fun and knowledgeable. I could not have planned some of our vacations as easily as I did without the information they provided. They make National Park planning easy and fun! Thank you Ash for putting together the podcast and the itineraries!

National parks??
10 minutes of national parks and 50 minutes of SiFi book club. Come on. What is this about. If a were a 14 year old kid with no life I might like it.

Skip this podcast
This couple does not give any guidance around permits or advance planning. And don’t expect to hear anything about trails except for the easiest hikes (they have 2 little kids so that limits their experience.) In one episode they spent 5 minutes talking about how they left one of the kid’s underwear at home. That’s the level of discourse you can expect here.

Such great hosts!
We’re going to several National Parks this year and discovered this podcast while planning. It has been so much fun to learn about these parks before going from people that truly love them.

Family Friendly Hype Tips
Binge listened to several of these episodes while we hammered out our Summer plans. Love the inside scoop, and John’s Dad jokes!

This is the one you’ve been looking for.
I’ve listened to pretty much ALL of the national parks pods. If you’re into high adventure, THIS IS THE ONE. Ash and John are sweet, funny, silly, and very knowledgeable about park trip planning. They know the best places, hikes, views, and everything in between. You will not be waisting miles with their recommendations. This podcast has become one of my comfort shows—I basically have the episodes memorized at this point. Lol!

Good, but..
While somewhat informative and definitely gets the juices flowing for my upcoming trips, They need to edit their shows. Ash,stop with the lazy vocabulary “like ya know and stuff and things”. Some episodes are really hard to listen to because of lazy and unedited dialogue.

Underrated!
I love the entire “Dirt In My Shoes” brand but this podcast is special! After first finding her on YouTube and wanting more of the fun side of National Park perspectives, trip planning, and stories this has filled the need. With literal fun facts, extreme transparency, and unmatched chemistry Ash and John are so entertaining! They have created something super special and extremely underrated. With their guidance my partner and I successfully managed to get the most out of a 3 day Yosemite trip. We will probably never be able to go back but, I’m grateful I found Dirt In My Shoes first and had some fun Yosemite specific listening entertainment on the roadtrip there.

This is one of the best travel podcasts out there if not the best. I have listened to every episode and enjoyed all of them. I would advise anyone that is interested in traveling to the National parks to list to the podcast prior to visiting the park and even checking out the dirt in my shoe’s website. John and Ash congratulations on a 100 episodes I hope that there will be a lot more.

The best
This is the best podcast for information on NPs! Some others are informational but bland, Ash & John are actually pleasurable to listen to. Love it!

Such a fun podcast!
We are planning a trip to the Tetons, so I thought I would listen to those specific episodes. They were so good that I found myself listening to others too and am loving it!

The Best National Park Podcast!
Our family loves this podcast. Ash and John are so much fun to listen to. They have a wealth of knowledge and explore both the popular and the out of the way parks. It doesn’t matter if we are preparing to go to a park or are listening to an episode after a visit (to make sure we checked of all the same sites!). They have great suggestions for families or those looking to do more intense backcountry adventures. Thanks Ash & John!

Love this podcast!
Ever since we listened to the episode on Mesa Verde fun facts on our way to the park, I’ve been hooked! I listen to this on long runs, and often find myself smiling goofily because Ash and John are hilarious and sweet. We’re using their itinerary to plan our trip to Arches and Canyonlands in the spring! I adore this podcast!

Fun and informative!
Love this podcast! We love visiting the national parks, and this podcast has been so informative and helpful and makes us excited to visit each park they talk about. Their itineraries and website are great too! It’s our kids favorite podcast. Very funny and entertaining, love all the movie references!

Prepping for Tetons!
1st trip to the Tetons is 2 days away and this was the perfect podcast to stumble across to get an overview of the park and hikes and must see things. I’ve of course already done lots of research so everything discussed was familiar but great to hear about it from another source and get some added tips. And made my hour of driving in traffic so much more enjoyable - was able to get lost in the excitement & anticipation for the trip.

Best National Parks Podcast for Travelers
This podcast, and Ash’s you tube channel (Dirt in my Shoes) have taught me SO much about the national parks and have made trip planning fun and easy! Make sure to check out her webpage too because there is so much detailed information. Just recently bought an itinerary from Ash and, even though I actually love the trip-planning process, Ash is way better at it than I am, and we’re going to follow her itinerary to the letter when visiting Yosemite! Thanks Ash and John!!

We discovered this podcast on a last minute trip through Grand Teton and Yellowstone. It was incredibly helpful in getting us up to speed to make the most of our time in the parks. Also loved learning all the fun facts and geology. Ash and John have contagious enthusiasm in addition to their deep knowledge and experience. We are excited to get the Dirt in My Shoes itineraries for future trips. Highly recommend!

Great discussion and interesting facts
I loved this interaction and facts. My fave flower is also the arrow root. Those yellow blooms are gorgeous in front of the magestic Tetons. I too am from SLC. Born there but grew up in Utah, Texas and Colorado. Landed in Wyoming 3 yrs ago as grandparents and campers. Been going to Tetons since I was 6. You guys have your facts spot on. Debbie

Great Tips and Entertaining!
I recently visited Everglades and Dry Tortugas after listening to your episodes about them! Your tips were great and allowed me to try some things around the parks that I hadn’t before, like Robert is Here. Super thankful that I listened to you guys and considered some new experiences before going! **updated to say that I bought the South Dakota/Black Hills Itinerary and it was worth every penny. Thank you!

Informative, Fun, and Fascinating!
I found Dirt In My Shoes on YouTube originally when planning my trip to the southwest. I found this podcast, and I’ve been enjoying them on my walks to help me get in the right mental space for the trip. Learning all the stories and information about the parks, their personal experiences, and the glorious trip planning has been wonderful. Can’t wait to keep listening!

Absolutely FANTASTIC
I look forward to this podcast every week! I absolutely love the quirky movie references John does. The playful banter between John and Ash is fantastic. I have learned so much about each National Park that they discuss. I even have the park map open, and looking up photos from the tops or places there discussing. It’s absolutely a fantastic podcast! I wish we had it twice a week!
