It’s so refreshing to hear people that dive deeper into the albums, but also the meanings and context that maybe similar podcasts might have missed. A great listen.

This is the first time I’ve listened to a review by these two that I’m like 👀 what is going on here. I think Nathan is like not tapped into any gay pop culture at all - when he’s obvi tapped into the wallen train… side eye. Also how rare for female producers to be exclusively running the room here, so not enough respect is given to that. Aquamarine has that house beat and cult favorite mv. Which btw these music videos are part of the narrative that maybe is what Nathan isn’t getting, since she’s very much doing a visual album here, probably *cough cough* better than Miley.

So much surface-level analysis and critiques of perfectly good songs/albums without any clear reason why. The episode lengths are inflated by them making pointless comparisons to other completely unrelated artists and songs, including songs that released AFTER the song they are talking about. And for some reason, they always find a way to bring up Taylor Swift, episode after episode… Sometimes they bring up interesting points, but any somewhat competent talking points are overshadowed by the aforementioned bloat.

But not every criticism of her is being a “hater”. The level of hagiographic obsession with her is, with love, concerning.

Had not tuned into anything before the Miley Cyrus content, but I’m so glad I found this! All caught up (through the Bangerz episode) and find myself antsy for the next episode. I really like these new-to-me hosts a lot! Yea, I have an “It’s the climb” tattoo and I’m a 56 year-old man, but we run things, things don’t run we!

I LOVE Norah and Nathan and swear I’d listen to anything they put out! I love how seriously they consider the music they’re discussing, love hearing their insights and opinions, and love their dynamic! I wish i could hear so, so much more! A forever listener.

…it’s an odd thing to say, I know — but I think I’m looking forward more to the “Every Single Album” episode about her new album, when it’s released — than I am to the album itself. And kudos to Nathan (who my assumption is, knew this was coming), for not spoiling the surprise. I guess respecting people’s process, and not being desperate to go viral with attention-seeking spoiler alerts, is how you stay “in the loop,” at the very highest level of the industry. I’m relatively new to podcasting as a consumer — having tossed NPR & ESPN Radio aside, in favor of the suddenly ubiquitous long-form podcast talk format — and I just thought it was interesting, that my first thought after Lorde’s Washington Square video popped up on YouTube, was: “I can’t wait to see what Nora & Nathan will have to say about this.”

I enjoy this podcast for the most part, but please stop making it the "Taylor Alison Swift's Fingerprints are on Everything" podcast, I beg. Her impact is undeniable, but most of the comparisons y'all make are a stretch at best and can really do a disservice to both an artist's work AND the far clearer influences behind it. Up the ante - $20 in the jar per mention! ;)

I adore this podcast and literally count down the days to new episodes. I feel like the content is a perfect balance and it’s introduced me to so many great artists and songs! Nora and Nathan are the best and their different takes are so interesting! They discuss culture amazingly. This is definitely my favorite podcast, and I feel so validated by Nathan standing up for Call Me When You Break Up, that song is fantastic lol!

I know this is meant to be an opinion-based show, but they don’t always feel grounded with their perspectives. Biases are apparent (especially with Taylor Swift and Gaga) after listening to this podcast for the last year.

Loved the original format of going thru old albums of artists but now a gossip show with Nora going full Hannah and Sara in her Sunday best. It’s about music not your fashion or restaurant entrance choices, keep that for your text chats.

This is an all-time favorite podcast for me. As a lifelong Swiftie (here since Debut), I don’t always agree with all of Nathan and Nora’s takes, but I genuinely love their warmth, opinions, and intense love for Taylor as an artist. They are a joy and a pleasure to listen to. I would listen to anything they made together, but I’m especially happy they chose to make this! Edit: I still really love this podcast, but Nathan, while usually lovely, says the strangest, most out-of-touch things at times. I was just warming back up to him recently, and the phrase “racehorses have great lives” exited his mouth. Why are you guys spending 60 seconds of fans’ listening time on Nathan saying insensitive things? I just don’t get it. Not every thought is meant to be heard by tens of thousands of people, so perhaps stronger editing is needed.

Nora and Nathan have great chemistry. Nora’s joy for the music she loves is contagious! Whether I agree or disagree with their hot takes, I always enjoy it.

Long time listener, first time reviewer. I wish they would stop talking about Beyoncé and the AOTY category. Asserting that a mother of three in her 40s who has been atop the music industry for decades hasn’t “done enough” for the white voting academy to understand the CC album and for it to deserve an award she should’ve been given on several other occasions emphasizes the hurdles black women have to navigate daily in white spaces. Something that they clearly don’t comprehend. It’s fine that they believe a lifetime achievement award is deserved for a Jamie Lee Curtis but not for their favorite celebrity’s celebrity, I just wish they would stop bringing it up. The same people that are the first to talk about how it is not good enough will be the same that are making sure they secure tickets to the concert over people that do get it and think it’s good enough. Just stick with praising Taylor and leave decades of blatant racial discrimination off the docket — as it seems impossible for them to discuss Beyonce without speaking Taylor’s name in the same sentence anyway.

I enjoy listening to Nora, but Nathan’s takes are…dated, to say the least. Scoffing at the idea of Jade Thirlwall having a breakthrough solo career because of her age is bad enough - but the endless salivating over Taylor Swift every time she does so much as blink is weird and obsessive. I wish this show was more balanced and lived less in the past.

I’m always pleased when I see new episode. The hosts, Nathan and Nora, have such good chemistry and I could listen to them banter about nearly anything. I’ll also add that, even when there’s something about an artist they don’t particularly like, they are mature and diplomatic about it. I’ve never heard these two get mean-spirited about anyone. I love that. Five stars. I’ll keep coming back.

Why is this guy SO OBSESSED with Taylor Swift having a baby. He brought it up 5 times, it’s creepy and completely missing the point of who Taylor is.

This podcast was spectacular when they did what the name suggests — review every single album from an artist. It’s now become just two more random people talking about their bad pop culture and music takes of the week.

I do! But if there is ever a Taylor Swift fashion tangent again I will give you guys a one star rating. Nora, please. You are already a bit too pretentious as it is.

I genuinely liked the podcast but it feels like payola or clout chasing at this point. I know Nathan works in the industry but i dont want to listen to a podcast we’re someone’s such a kiss up because of the politics of the industry

I’m 35 and Gracie’s lyrics are more relatable to me than Taylor.. truly who suggested to you guys that you should start a podcast about music… you’re missing it

I like to listen to full albums while working and don’t have anyone to talk to about them. This podcast is fun to listen to. They play a lot of clips of the songs while they are talking about it too which I like. I love Eternal Sunshine and needed someone to talk to about it and enjoyed listening to others talk about it.

I’ve been listening since Nathan and Nora started, and I love their insights into the music industry. They have a great rapport and make me laugh every week. Obviously this is a must listen for Swifties, but also for any pop music fan!

Sometimes there is insightful and interesting takes on the music, but the two hosts also interrupt and talk over each other a LOT, which is not only extremely irritating, but difficult to hear. Please stop talking over each other, I’m begging!

They have such an amazing and diverse taste of music and I can already tell on the first episode I’m listening to (Chappell Roans), that they are going to be my next favorite podcast. I love all the albums they are covering and on this episode talking about Chappell I can tell they respect the artist and their music and are there to tell everyone all of the amazing details. I looooove visiting the old episodes about Taylor’s albums but I’ve noticed the newer ones are not nearly as concise or interesting - as if they are trying too hard to come up with a topic. Maybe we only need this pod once a month? I like hearing Nora’s takes but she speaks non stop for about 70% of the episode and it’s too much sometimes.

The laugh talking from Nora as another reviewer noted gets on my nerves. It is a bit immature…it’s not that funny the stuff she is laughing about constantly. Wish Nathan wouldn’t have backed down on his “hostage situation” statement. I felt the same way!! No shade…it is just too much of the same.

Has anyone ever told Nathan to shut up. I’m shocked at all the reviews claiming Nora talks too much. She’s the only one who sound be speaking bc he’s a misogynistic dweeb who says nothing of note!!!

I really appreciate the thoughtful coverage and takes by the hosts but am disappointed how much Taylor Swift coverage there is. One episode to review tortured poets would have been sufficient! I want to hear you talk about other artists! There are already soooooo many Taylor swift dedicated podcasts. We REALLY don’t need continual eras tour updates here. Most of us are over inundated with them on tiktok anyway. The original pitch of this podcast is so great and again I like hearing what the hosts have to say I just wish they would stick to their original thesis and move on. I genuinely believe you’re both better than this!

Enjoyed a lot of the old content and have listening to much of the catalogue. Nathan has historically talked over Nora and I hear her these days trying to maintain airtime - newer listeners might perceive this as her steamrolling or interrupting Nathan, but I take it as a natural response. The Eternal Sunshine episode was the final straw for me. Nathan is totally well-meaning and we need champions for pop girlies, but he misses the mark often (recall: his comments on Taylor’s hair) and especially in this episode. I’ll listen when they reset the dynamic or Nora gets a new co-host.

This show is a lot more accessible than pretty much anything else for people who are uninitiated to Taylor Swift’s catalogue and career. While I disagree with their perspective on music with every fiber of my being (the size of an artist’s audience has almost nothing to do with their quality + I don’t care whether someone is a good businessperson), I still think they’re entertaining and insightful, as far as these kind of corporate music podcasts go.

…but agree with some other reviewers that: - The overall quality of commentary has gone downhill. - The rushed TTPD episodes were massively disappointing and superficial. - Nora doesn’t add anything substantive to the conversation, but she also won’t stop talking. I hadn’t noticed this before because Nathan is so thoughtful and interesting, but she no longer lets him get a word in edgewise. The stars I DO give are for Nathan’s industry insights and for thoughtful commentary in the early episodes. And a bonus star for a white forty-something male Swiftie. For that, I hand heart.

Nora laughs while speaking and cuts Nathan off constantly. It’s headache inducing listening to someone laugh-speaking at a much louder volume than their cohost.

I mostly enjoy this podcast, but sometimes it feels like it’s the definition of “you just said a whole lot while also saying nothing at all”. I feel like the points made could be simplified and cut down a looooot and it’d be a much more enjoyable listening experience, but I find myself skipping whole sections.

Which is nothing to say for the extreme lack of diversity. I think the reviews are thorough (though maybe overly so - much like some albums that are criticized for being overly long - the episodes could use an editor). The title of the podcast is misleading. “Every Single Album” made me think it was going to feature a much wider range of music and musicians. The episodes about Taylor Swift, Adele, Harry Styles and One Direction take up like 90% of the catalogue. And the number of episodes after they talk about Swift album is that is about her PROMOTING the album is also wild. There are almost always MORE of those episodes than of the album review ep. I see in the description it mentions that they are pop music enthusiasts but they did one episode on Cowboy Carter (which - if anything deserved multiple episodes to unpack? I mean COME ON). Anyway, the CC shows they are willing to use the word “pop” in a looser way. (Though strangely no episode on Renaissance?!). I don’t know I was hoping I found a podcast that would make me think more deeply about the music I love AND maybe show me some albums that are popular but go beyond Swift, Adele, Styles.

Why do we need a thirty second clip of a song every time one lyric is mentioned? We know the songs you’re talking about. Like, we do not need to hear the chorus of Flowers just because you mentioned Flowers was on the chart. We all know the song Flowers. The points of reference are redundant and irritating. UPDATE: Nathan, comparing Taylor marching during TSMWEL to her being “on the frontlines of Ukraine” is not the witty commentary you think it is.

I love this pod but I am so over the constant TTPD episodes. If I wanted pop culture updates I’d just listen to Jam Session. When are you going to review eternal sunshine. I can’t believe you did Maggie Roger’s before it and still haven’t done it. What is the deal. It’s getting tiring at this point and I wish you guys would do less of the mundane Taylor coverage and actually cover albums you said you were going to cover. I have a feeling on next weeks pod, the 22nd it’ll be Billie’s album you cover and STILL NO ETERNAL SUNSHINE. Tomato tomato.

Nathan and Nora…. I feel like we’re friends even though you don’t know that I exist (except maybe you will if you read this)! Nathan and Nora are obviously brilliant, they KNOW music, and their love for it is evident through every episode. I think that my favorite thing about Nora and Nathan is that, while they are honest and do offer critiques, they never dwell in negativity. Their commentary comes from a place of loving music, and loving the artists who make it. Nora and Nathan, I am SO grateful for you both. I re-listen to your episodes about Taylor’s work when I need to feel calmed and comforted, and I have learned so much about other music by listening to you. Thank you!

For the most part, i enjoy this podcast and listening to their perspective. Both hosts have unique takes on most of Taylor’s discography and its nice to think about her music from a different perspective. Nathan’s near constant comparison of every song to something else that it sounds like is very tired though.
