If you were looking for a hunting podcast that comically bad on almost every topic they discuss this is it. Whether it’s conservation, firearms, cartridge selection, fitness, hunting tactics. It’s all the same nonsensical rambling.

All I got out of this episode is mark and jeff are better than everyone else

I appreciate the podcasts enjoy the rabbit hole talk. I agree with you Cory, Randy gets my vote. I hope I get it down there and run into at the Portland Oregon sportsman show.

Listened to the Bump and Charge episode on the drive out west for our elk hunt. Used this tactic during our hunt and called back in a bull for my 63-year old buddy’s 2nd archery elk. Thanks for the advice and sharing great information.

There are good things about this podcast, but as a RMEF member disappointed regarding their stance on the reintroduction of wolves. So much so reconsider renewing my member ship.

Really enjoying listening to these guys along with all the great information on being a better hunter.

Randy Gillette here from Idaho. I’ve talked with you Cory a few times one in cabelas and at Utah western hunting expo and love you and Randy s elk talk podcast. Here is my marriage advancement. When you go hunt for a week or longer. Have a bouquet of flowers delivered to your wife about the time you think she is really cursing you. It’s worked for me when I went to the Salway. Randy.

After listening I feel loaded to the brim with awesome info! Lots to process and remember!

I really enjoy the podcast. I Randy and Cory keep it entertaining. I enjoy some of the rabbit holes they do go down and of course the marriage advice from Randy

Randy and Corey are a perfect duo for entertainment. There are some boring episodes but even within those, there are some great information and funny moments. They do push some gear that isn’t needed but they have sponsors that expect that stuff. So if you will be upset hearing “commercials” then turn off the internet and go in the woods. It’s just what it is. At least they are promoting the gear while they talk and not just a recorded commercial we are forced to listen to. The elk info and hunting story’s are worth the listen!

Ironic that these clowns are always complaining about the lack of hunting opportunities when all they do is try to sell their schemes and strategies that increase demand. This podcast is an infomercial and you are a sucker if you think the things they sell will make you a better hunter.

Very informative, with a lot of hot topics. My ONLY complaint is Elk Talks support of Gerber Knives and products. Gerber is a huge supporter of Oregon Wild, witch is the nonprofit that spearheaded bringing wolves back to Oregon. I support companies that support hunting and preserving hunting.

Great podcast, Randy and Corey are a wealth of knowledge when it comes to Elk hunting and calling. I always find myself hungry for Dilly bars after I listen to a episode for some reason tho 🤔🤣

Probably the worst as professionals goes after watching a couple YouTube videos. His client was doing better than he was as far as what to do and what not to do. Podcast is dry and every rabbit hole is just way off track! Remi Warren will teach you real hunting tactics!

Corey and Jacob truly complement each other with their experience to make a very educational and entertaining show. Thanks for what you two do!

Gents, respect your audience and don’t waste our time with useless musings. I have to agree w/ comments in the one star range. It is like you have spent all your time catching up on the phone but included that in a podcast. I recently listened to 20 minutes of nonsense before we got to the subject matter. So unfortunately I don’t think I can listen anymore. Recommendations for correction: 1. Outline the podcast. 2. Stick to outline. 3. Catch up with your hunting buddy on your time, not mine. 4. I run multiple businesses. My walk/run/drive time is precious. Why 2stars? I actually got some useful info from time to time. Thank u for that. But after 5 episodes I can’t justify only 10 minutes of relevance in an hour plus episode. Seriously, the “talent” needs an editor with a backbone.

If you want 1.5 hrs of product plugging and useless banter, this is your podcast. If you want to learn about elk hunting, I’d recommend listening to someone like Remi Warren.

If you have time to waste on jibber jabber and banter, this is the podcast for you. Minimal content.

Ok, go back. I had posted “Really great and fun podcast. LOVED the wedgie cartoon that showed up in IG today, and I want you both as King! I’d pay more for my tag if Utah would just go to all random draw. Whomever thought up these point systems didn’t think long term (or DID think long term for themselves and family...).” But there’s more. This was a really important podcast - the discussions on proposed legislation and access (I so agree!). You’re too hard on yourselves. This is good AND essential. Thank you!!

Why do I feel like this podcast is like my two uncles talking in the garage over an awkwardly forced visit for a thanksgiving dinner? Same stories, same ideas but I keep coming back for more.

I’d like to hear both of your views on Senate Bill 144 that is proposing 60% of combination tags to licensed outfitters. This decreases that chance of doing a DIY Non-Resident Montana Hunt.

Anytime I see a podcast with either Randy Newberg or Corey Jacbson it's immediately on the download list. These two characters have great insight, top notch info and are always a pleasure to listen to. This was the first podcast I ever listened to and turned me into a podcast junkie. Thumbs up. Mike B. Love the show and both guys seem are down to earth and super helpful. Only reason it didn’t get 5 stars was one thing that drives me nuts. They constantly sound like they are sucking on hard candy or some type of lozenge. I picked up on it quick and now notice it every single time I listen. Really distracting.

Don’t support Cory or buy his products. He wants to force you to pay for his youtube videos even though they’re full of product placement. No support from me and I’ll never buy his products again. Does meateater or anybody else force you to pay for youtube videos?

Montanas hate out of state hunters, thats why we charge so much for out of state tags.

Thank you so much for all the info you guys give on this podcast! I’ve been listening for almost 2 years now and I just went on my first archery elk last week, and.....I harvested my first elk!!!!! Arrow right through the heart at 40yds!!!! It was like a had a playbook with all this info, they were right where I had e-scouted! Thanks again guys!

What’s your thought on a 9 man elk camp forcing a rule last minute that all elk is to be split equally between all 9 guys whether all people participated in the harvesting of that elk or not.

There’s lots of great units that the archery season goes until September 16th. That’s the longest into September archery seasons go here. Unless you can get the silver state tag. My buddy got it last year.

Some podcasts are better than others...this one is on top of the heap!

Fortunately for me the price of fuel is relatively low right now but my commutes have nearly doubled in time. I find myself listening to these two guys every time a new podcast drops. Right now they are keeping me sane as I commute to work during this pandemic and it is a much needed distraction. I respect both randy and Corey immensely. There knowledge of everything “elk” is second to none. If you are a serious elk hunter you need to listen to elktalk podcast. Keep up the great work!

Randy and Corey are engaging, informative, and entertaining. Listening to them feels like hanging out with two old friends. And, they constantly drop pearls of wisdom gained from hard-earned experience. This occurs explicitly in their direct teaching, and implicitly as they swap stories. Must listen for anyone committed to achieving “success” in the elks woods. With Randy and Corey “success” is “guaranteed,” because when you approach it the way they do, success isn’t limited to harvesting an elk. Success is found in investing in your own knowledge, gaining experience through all phases of a hunt, and appreciating and conserving the beauty and complexity of Elk and the other God-given resources that comprise the elk hunting experience. I live in Texas. Current life experiences limit my opportunities to hunt elk. In preparation for a 2019 Idaho OTC public land hunt, I hung on every word Randy and Corey have spoken on this podcast, and their other platforms. They were the voices in my head, as I punched my tag on a solid six-point. They guided me in my months of preparing, through quartering, and getting the elk off the mountain. No doubt I was the beneficiary of much good fortune—beyond what I deserve. But, I’m confident saying that without the knowledge gained from Randy and Corey in this podcast, I would not have been able to capitalize on the good fortune to seal the deal.
