Hello, dear Duolingo podcast. We are a big fan of Duolingo podcast and the app for study. We have heard EVERY SINGLE EPISODE. We bought all plushes of the app and more. And would love to read transcripts on each episode on paper. I know that you put all transcripts on the website but don’t you plan to make that a book? Please please consider that. Three of us study Spanish and those transcripts are so good to study verbs(and the stories are so fun and amazing) and many grammars without getting bored. I will be the first person who purchase it. I just got Duolingo to learn Hawaiian and I heard one of the benefits of using Duolingo to learn a language is that they had podcast to help you be able to understand it more fluently. I didn’t realize it only had it for select languages. Please add a bigger‘s variety of languages not just for people who are learning, Spanish or French. If you are going to offer this service, you should include it for more languages.

I’m convinced that a lot of yalls comprehension issues lay in English and not Spanish. Before every podcast the narrator states that this is for INTERMEDIATE LEARNERS. Why would it be a full translation for that? If you’re a beginner, you’d serve better by gaining listening skills then return to this podcast before giving a review of “please slow down”/“I can’t understand”. With that being said, I find this podcast to be useful for intermediate listening and comprehension, I just wished there were more episodes.

Duolingo has helped me improve my Spanish skills enormously. I started with the free version but quickly paid for the group version. My family has used the app for 3+ years, 5 of us for Spanish and 1 for German. All of us took high school Spanish or German. Some of us studied the language on the college level. The variety of practice exercises is great. If you are competitive, you can join the weekly leaderboards. The hardest part of learning a language is understanding it in spoken form. I have appreciated the exercises that force me to listen. I never miss a day. I just turned 80, and I’m enjoying using my Spanish to help Hispanic learners in my community to learn English. When I travel, there are always opportunities to use what I’ve learned on DuoLingo. Keep up the good work. The complainers resist every change you make with the program, but I enjoy every new challenge you offer. Go, Duo!

Duolingo used to be great but between the new ai features and upping the notifications/engagement strategies from helpful to aggressive, I just don't feel like it can help me learn anymore. I hope the podcast doesn't go downhill any more than the app has.

My favorite episode is the one abput the guy who knew that he was born for drag <3 its really inspirational. bu overall i think that my only complaint is to maybe make it a bit more beginner friendly?

I sometimes use this to fall asleep, because the Spanish speaking helps me fall asleep, but some of the sound effects sometimes wake me up. The music if fine, but the buzzer before the spoiler alert 🚨 could be quieter. Otherwise it’s great and you should make more episodes.

I love love this podcast for many years, sad to know it’s now “sunset”. Bring it back!

This podcast always brightens my day! As a long time student of Spanish it's helpful to constantly have voices to listen to!

I listen to an episode but it is so hard I am new to Spanish and I could barely hear what you were saying plz fix it

Seriously, my only complaint is that we need more episodes per season, and bring it back soon! Skip the app, seriously, skip the app. But listen to this. It could honestly stand alone because it’s nothing like actual Duolingo. And for anyone complaining it’s not translated or is too complicated- it’s specified clearly it’s for intermediate learners. It’s perfect for that level, speaking as one myself. If you are somewhere between fully bilingual and beginner, and are good at comprehension, it’s perfect. It’s actually clear to me that the native speakers are enunciating, keeping their speed reasonable, and using simple vocab. Way easier than watching tv or observing natural conversations.

I used to love Duolingo everything about it was cool. They had less ads than before, so much better stuff. I quit a while ago because they got worst after the chess update. The ai’s are weird, loads of ads, and their widgets are creepy. They make you do your streak everyday even if you’re at a wedding or something or a honeymoon. I’ll go back to Duolingo when your app gets back on track, srry duo.

Want to reiterate what is stated about this podcast which is these are not language lessons but life lesson through language. I use it as an informative and entertaining method to immerse myself in the language and cultures as part of a larger language learning plan. I listen to the podcast and if I enjoy it I will save it. I will then continue to listen to it in subsequent mornings on my phone while reading along to the transcript on my computer. I also create a pdf file of the transcript. I then at night will read the transcript and use the pdf tools or other computer/internet tools to make notes of translations on the parts of the transcript that I struggle with. I repeat this until I have confidence in understanding the entire podcast. I do this for each of my faved podcasts from Duolingo Spanish. I will say that if you dont understand contextually what you’re listening to then you should increase your Spanish level through other means first or you will struggle and not enjoy the podcasts and will get frustrated. However, when u are ready, it is so rewarding and truly enjoyable to learn about other cultures and personal stories via Spanish.

To hard for beginners that are learning Spanish. Make it less complicated I couldn’t understand a word

I love podcasts and I need to learn Spanish and sometimes Duolingo sends me notifications of these podcasts. Even though I can’t understand ALL the words I still like this Because I need to learn Spanish so this is good for me Ty!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is an amazing podcast. Even though I didn’t understand a lot of it I was able to get the gist of it. That’s why I’m giving it 5 stars.

Great! I like that even some of the films are rated R, they keep it G in the podcast. Though I agree that there has to be at least some translation though I like being fully immersed in Spanish, so maybe it could be like- you know, a setting.

This podcast has been a critical part of my learning Spanish - Especially my hearing & comprehension. I think it’s the perfect mix of context (gracias para the English ) but then the use of intermediate vocabulary - just right for beginners & intermediate. The stories too are so moving and interesting - it really makes me want to keep listening. Gracias!

The Duolingo Spanish Podcast is only okay to me, which is why I only gave it three stars. First of all, I LOVE the idea of a Spanish podcast. But for me, it’s just a little TOO Spanish. When I first tried listening to a podcast, I didn’t understand a word I heard! I know this is a podcast, and podcasts are for listening, but I feel like since all of us are still LEARNING Spanish, maybe there could be some way for us to translate the words other than with our own brains. So, I love the idea, but give us some sort of translation of the story, please! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I think the podcast is good but would be much better if you would avoid trying to advance a political agenda. Teach language and stay away from all the other nonsense.

I lot of ppl hate the gays stuff and other ppl like the gay stuff and hate that ppl that don’t like it. A lot of ppl are asking why we don’t like it ITS OUR RELIGION your gay stuff and pride stuff is like your religion. Everyone is like “I don’t think ppl will like me bc I like boys” no one cares, no one can control who you like, and it’s not like we are screaming TAKE THE GAY STUFF OUT we are just saying our opinion, RESPECT OUR RELIGION

I love the duolingo app and podcast but I don’t like the lgbtq episodes on the podcasts I know many people will get angry at me but it’s my opinion it’s my opinion that god is real it’s your opinion that it’s okay to be gay. it’s all okay 😮‍💨 Also I know racism exists but I have never seen anyone be racist at school at work or anywhere either I am lucky or unaware. I’m so grateful that this podcast exists! I have been using it as a supplemental tool to learn Spanish and it is terrific! I love the variety of topics, geographic locations, and lived experiences of the characters and narrators that are represented. I especially appreciate when the narrator describes differences in dialects and pronunciation based on location. I highly recommend listening to this podcast! It’s awesome and it has really helped me to improve my Spanish listening skills.

Why? Why do so many people (you the comment) hate the LGBTQIA+community? Being apart of it myself I really can’t understand why people can get so cruel. I’m taking a Spanish class weekly online with a teacher in Guatemala and info Duolingo daily and these podcasts are my favorite part of my Spanish education! Enriching stories and that challenge my skills with just the right amount of context help from Martina Castro. I always look forward to listening!

If I could do zero stars I would. LGBTQ?! Transgender?! What the heck ?! For starters is everyone brainwashed by Satan ?!!!!!!! A man and a woman are the only ones meant to be together. Oy. I am Messianic Jewish which is the same thing as Christian. What happened to our souls? Free Will really messed us up. But if you are Christian also and listening to this and agree with this stuff then you are not living your life as a Christian. You are living your life as the devil’s slave. He ( Satan) uses small sinful things that seem ok at the beginning until you are fully blinded ,so that you can’t tell which is wrong and what is right. I am not trying to force you into my faith I am only warning you. Keep faithful to the Lord until the end of this idiotic world. And he will protect you and take care of you. I used to be one of the devil’s slaves, a film covering my eyes and heart. But now I am FREE. Don’t you want to not have a care in the world or know that the king of kings is your father who will never abandon you or forsake you. God is forgiving. He says you are His. You are priceless in His eyes.

So fun as I learn more Spanish being able to better understand the stories. The stories are so good even my boyfriend who speaks Spanish deals with the slow speaking (to him) because of how good the stories are! Thank you so much. Never stop please.

I’m currently working on my fluency in Spanish, and as a non-binary Lesbian, the comments on “LGBT is not ok for kids OR adults” and “this is obviously propaganda” are homophobic and bigoted. If you don’t like it, don’t do it. Otherwise it’s great, and has helped my learning.
