We're back with a new edition of an old favorite as we go On Assignment to review Sammy Hagar's 'I Never Said Goodbye.' Yes, you read that right.
The goal of On Assignment is to have a friend pick an album for us to review. After a long run of defending Sammy Hagar's honor on the Decibel Geek podcast Facebook page, loyal listener Troy Maturin put us to the test by assigning his favorite Sammy Hagar album, 1987's 'I Never Said Goodbye.'
After all of our jabs over the years, would a listen of this album turn us into Redheads?
Would we swear off allegiance to David Lee Roth and see the error of our ways?
Or, will we offend Troy to the point of him walking off the show?
All questions that can only be answered by giving it a listen.
We promise some healthy debate and a ton of laughs in this episode. We thank Troy for being on the show and rolling with our silliness.
We hope you enjoy On Assignment: Sammy Hagar - I Never Said Goodbye and SHARE with a friend!

We're back this week to reflect on the monumental loss of heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne. Less than two weeks after his triumphant Back to the Beginning concert, Ozzy has left this Earth.
In this episode, we share our personal stories as fans of Ozzy and Black Sabbath—memories of his word-of-mouth legend in the ‘80s, his rise to superstardom in the ‘90s, his mainstream breakthrough through reality TV, continued musical output, and eventual reunion with Sabbath. It’s a legendary career filled with milestones. We also read listener feedback and memories of Ozzy from fans around the world.
While Ozzy Osbourne's passing is a profound loss, his music, mythos, and magic will live on for generations. We love you, Ozzy.
We hope you enjoy this episode—and please, share it with a friend.

The Radio Sucks Radio Show is back for July, bringing you another batch of killer rock that the mainstream continues to ignore. Chris and Aaron dig deep into their music libraries to share new discoveries, overlooked favorites, and tracks from artists still carrying the torch for guitar-driven rock.
This month features selections from Smith/Kotzen, Damon Johnson, Rik Emmett, Gilby Clarke, Seven Ravens, The Karma Effect, The Southern River Band, Danko Jones, Jane and the Killer Queens, and Mustasch. It’s a diverse lineup - all delivered with the energy and humor (intentional/unintentional) that you expect from Decibel Geek.
The guys also revisit the recent Dual Threat: Guitarists Edition episode with a nod to one standout artist whose name keeps coming up. No spoilers—listen in to find out who made the biggest impression.
We hope you enjoy Radio Sucks Radio Show for July 2025 and SHARE with a friend!

This week we return with the series that celebrates those that have the gift of vocals AND chops as The Dual Threat!
Excelling at an instrument is hard enough. But, to master an instrument and sing at the same time? That's another level of talent. This week we're celebrating some of our favorite singing guitarists. Some that we've teased at in the episode art come to mind immediately but there's plenty more to celebrate.
We hope this series will help listeners appreciate the legends, get turned onto muscians/bands they didn't know before, and open up a dialogue on who YOU, the listener, thinks should be on this list. We can't wait to hear from you.
We hope you enjoy The Dual Threat - Guitarists Edition and SHARE with a friend!
