The entire Dateline feed is completely cluttered with half a dozen or more spinoff pods and other nonsense. Trying to navigate through it is a hot mess and not even worth the hassle anymore.

God bless the Guthrie family. Truly heartbreaking.

The first time ever I had to turn off an episode. I didn’t even get halfway through. First of all it’s way too long. Second of all Hoda is constantly talking, inserting words while Savannah is talking and saying things and making noises and it is so freaking irritating aren’t journalist supposed to be quiet and just listen? It’s like nails on a chalkboard.

I’ve been a subscriber for a few years and love listening to the shows. I listen to them over and over! Recently, all I see on my feed are Talking Dateline and the Weekly Roundups, or whatever they’re called. Where are the actual shows??

Please do NOT have the correspondent summarize the episode. Have the interviewer do that part, it’s much more succinct. The correspondents are always too long-winded, I think they’re a little too close to the story to be doing it well

I love dateline, or loved it, but now even when you subscribe the content is lacking and just regurgitation of old episodes. Also, I feel like the reposting of old episodes or series without any comment on the being old is shady…pulling the wool over our eyes?? Cmon. For such a massive media source this weak output is LAME.

Please stop doing hour and a half recaps of actual episodes and posting them here. And just doing them.

Why have you started dropping in ads for us with Premium subscriptions? This is not acceptable. You raised the price, and THEN added commercials? Hell, no. Please fix it. I listen for literally hours per day, but it is not worth paying plus listening to ads. Also, your description still boasts “ad-free” premium subscription, so what now?

They’ve recently started pushing old dateline original series into the feed - all the episodes at once. I understand that new reporting takes time, but I find it annoying to have stories I’ve already listened to forced to the top of the queue. Much worse though is the fact that I pay for premium and now there’s adds all the sudden. So there are no new episodes AND you slipped adds back into the premium feed? I’m giving it a little more time and unsubscribing if it continues. UPDATE March 2026: so everything above is still true and they just doubled the subscription price. I’m canceling !

I don’t like the new format of your podcast, although the interviews can be interesting. I have to keep looking for the real story. It is frustrating and confusing. There is too much to look through before I get a complete story.

I’ve been a premium member for years but this may be the last time I pay for premium as there are so many repeats of either series’s or episodes. The recaps are annoying and I just classify them as being heard to get them off my feed. Where are the new episodes??

I enjoy Talking Dateline quite a bit. Not everyone hates it. Just skip it if you don’t want to listen to it.

We are tired of dateline releasing old podcasts over and over. Come on! It’s not new so stop. And talking dateline has destroyed your podcast. I’m not going to follow your podcast anymore. It’s awful.

I’ve listened to all of these a long time ago. What’s the point if a subscription ?

Feb 6 was the last actual new full case. Since then it’s been repeats of “Dateline Original” and “Talking Dateline”. Neither of which is why I’m a premium member. I especially dislike “Talking Dateline”. I get so annoyed when those eps pop into my feed!! I pay the premium for NEW episodes weekly. Not this other nonsense.

I’ve been frustrated by their efforts to take old stories we’ve heard and stretch them out into a six episode podcast. I know they sell ads. What’s the point for the listener? No longer think premium is worth it.

Why are there no new episodes???

Maybe there are not enough mysteries to keep it fresh, but not worth the subscription. They rerun too many old episodes then another episode to talk about the episode. Does anyone really listen to those “talking datelines? “ dateline, if we are paying for a subscription, it’s for more mysteries not to hear the hosts talk about an episode we have already seen.

Don’t get me wrong — I LOVE the Olympics. Truly. Give me all the gold medals and dramatic finishes. 🥇 But while the world is competing, I am over here missing my weekly Dateline fix like it’s a close friend on vacation. As a loyal subscriber, this podcast is my go-to while I drive. Nothing makes traffic better than that familiar voice pulling me into a twisty story before I even reach the highway. It’s part of my weekly rhythm, my routine, my “me time.” So yes, enjoy the Olympic sprint… but can we please win the gold in fastest-released series ever and get back on track? 😄 I’m ready for the suspense, the storytelling, and that classic Dateline deep dive. Five stars always — just hurry home to us!

1. Paying for content WITH ads from NBC is laughable. The smallest podcasts with the smallest budgets don’t do this. Greedy. 2. Reposts of old episodes with no intro saying so, no explanation in the description- what? As an avid listener, I’m 10 minutes in thinking “this sounds so familiar…” this is lazy. If you’re doing to post old content, bare minimum SAY SO. 3. Why am I opening this feed to literally 50+ episodes dumped here in one week- multiple seasons, of another podcast that I’ve already downloaded and listened to; Dateline Originals? What is happening? This is YOUR other Podcast. It’s an offshoot of Dateline with its own feed. What an odd- and terrible- choice. Not sure who’s overseeing operation here but it’s MESSY. 3 stars only for the longstanding reputation and reporting of Dateline but this podcast business isn’t your strong suit. Get someone who knows what they’re doing, and fast.

Me too. This is a podcast. I look forward to every Tuesday. All I’m getting is reruns and commentary. I am also going to cancel my subscription if we’re not hearing new episodes. What’s the point?

I wait every week for my Tuesday episode. I pay for the premium subscription. The last two weeks they have only posted reruns of shows I have listened too, as most dedicated listeners have. Do better. I am thinking about dropping my subscription.

I love Dateline but please remove “Talking Dateline”. Your customers don’t like them, just read the reviews. You tried, it was a failure. Get back to the normal dateline episodes.

NBC, don’t you have enough money? Releasing a 6 episode series on Dateline but putting episode #1 behind a paywall is so greedy and cringe.

I recently bought the upgrade so not to have commercials. Just listening to Justice for Joy and it has commercials. Not sure why?

It’s not even correct English. How does this soccer mom, chitchat dingbat have a journalism job??

Dateline is always top notch as are each reporter. But Andrea Canning just knocked it out of the park with this Secrets episode. From story telling to interviews her empathy, insight and passion were spot on, and doled out appropriately depending on who she was speaking with. I couldn’t imagine two more deluded and narcissistic people coming together to wreak havoc if I tried. Andre handled both of them with the pointed questions they deserved. Especially the sharp slap of reality she administered to Delbert. Wonderful to witness. My heart goes out to John Michael and his family and I hope he continues to make a better life for all of them - they deserve it. His loving mom watches on.

I love this podcast. The reporters really dig into the stories!

I have been listening to Dateline for years! Can’t get enough of them. Keeps me in suspense till the end of the story.

This is the only such show where the journalists really seem to care about the people involved. Their storytelling is unparalleled! Love Andrea!

I love dateline but the most recent "Graduation Night" episode had a really loud strange sound effect every few minutes. It was very distracting and I had to turn off the episode. Can the producers look into that?

I like listening while I’m working, however one suggestion is to make each year a season. I like going back to the early episodes but it takes forever to scroll back to 2019, maybe have a drop down for each year.

This is my go-to podcast for my morning work commute and relaxing before bed, but recently I’ve noticed the music bed and background sound effects have gotten so loud they compete with the narrator, regardless of who is hosting the episode. It’s distracting and difficult to hear the details being shared about the case—plus it’s sometimes a bit insensitive, especially when it’s blasting loud and dramatic sound effects (bells ringing, prison doors slamming shut, etc.) during an interview with victims’ family and friends. Please stick to the story and keep the music and background effects exactly that: in the background!! :)
