Lazy
Lacks the rigor to fact-check and the motivation to find the interesting stories within the show’s scope.

This is the best podcast!
I really want to support the show, but my parents won’t let me subscribe, but I really want to support the show for the best but I want to see it more than once a month.

No Longer Love This Thing…
2026 Update: Unfortunately, this shoe has gone the way of many great docuseries. Season one is amazing, diving into all the most notorious characters with the greatest stories to tell. Then season two starts to decline because the characters are just not as interesting. By the next season, the show has clearly overstayed its welcome. The production has evolved and Jack has honed his craft, but I think this show should have evolved into something different by now. I’m checking out ✌🏽 Original review: I’m consuming this podcast in a way I haven’t done with any podcast in a long time. I was instantly hooked. Now I’ve gotta slow down, or I’ll run out of episodes to listen, too soon 😬.

No gatekeepers here
Jack is such a great storyteller! And he’s inviting us to enter a world that is more or less a mystery to me - and I’m sure many others. We get a bit of cyber history, a bit of adventure, interesting interviews, and a few valuable tips on cyber security. I was hooked from the first episode I listened to. Great podcast!

Informative
Good production, research, host, etc. the subject matter on the other hand makes my faith in humanity decrease. These people including jack, are why this world sucks. They ruin everything and tell themselves they are doing something good. Delusional and psychotic. The type of people that complain about not getting enough nuggets in their drive thru order and vandalize playgrounds. Ohh I was just showing the vulnerability of the playground, that’s the point, safe spaces for people to gather ruined by fat psychos.

Thanks for an hour long commercial for your sponsor
Jack has clearly gone commercial and completely wasted my time today telling me how great his sponsor is. I will be unfollowing just as soon as I post this. Oh well guess it was good while it lasted

Makes You Regret Life Choices
I love this podcast, although it should come with an addiction warning. So many great episodes and Jack really is a great host. Makes me reflect on my childhood BBS experiences and Phone Phreaking. My biggest problem is that I went into computer graphics years ago (we won’t say how long) and this podcast really makes me ponder what a life on the security side would have been like. It also makes you feel like you’re missing out in life if you don’t go to Defcon.

Love the podcast
I love the little stories jack tells before each episode like the one about the fake giant or the scam with the kfc tv. I also really appreciate jack finding all of these great guests though there have been a few bad ones.

That was, without a doubt the most boring 50 minutes of my life. My goodness.

50/50
Half the episodes are incredibly interesting, the others are terribly boring and clearly only appeal to Silicon Valley nerds.

This is my favorite podcast. A lot of podcasts are boring to me but I love this one. In player hacker cheater spy there is actually some great reasons why you should cover players. 1 some games have tournaments like Fortnite. Roblox as well which you should also make an episode about cause of the safety. 2 some players can mod their game which is really cool

Instant Fan
I had this podcast in my TODO list for too long. As soon as I started it, I was engrossed. Great stories, and relevant. While I am a tech professional, I'd recommend it to anyone, really.

Let me start off by saying your podcast is one of my favorite things to listen to, but this episode is the worst. This guy interviewed is a idiot, in his mind I’m sure he believes he’s the main character of a Jerry Bruckheimer movie. He is Braggadocious, repeats himself, and from what I gather from the episode is this guy knows almost nothing about computers. Every episode has very interesting characters that really know how to write code, create exploits and for the most part have a redemption story. If you were to ask him what a zero day is, he would think it’s the next title of a mission impossible movie. “You know what I’m sayin”.

Jack oh Jack update the designs!
I’m listening to learn subject matter and terminology, host is genuine and enjoyably creative. He needs to add designs to the hoody section though, it’s getting cold and the selection of artwork should be increased!
I/myself/me
Great subjects, cringe host
Borderline unlistenable me because of the hosts commentary. Constantly interrupting the story every two minutes to just repeat back to you what just happened or patronizingly explain something most adults know. It’s very Jimmy Fallon like in the attention hogging, oxygen-sucking cringe.

Great! Show
Jack Rhysider’s podcast is excellent — his voice, humor, and storytelling make every episode captivating and fun to listen to.

Great pod
I love this podcast. So much good information. The only episode that I have listened to that I could not finish is the card swiper episode. Nathan Michael triggered PTSD for me as a woman. He is sick. Just a thief and a Pimp. Thinks he is some kind of genius Robinhood. Leaving wounded souls in his wake. You laughed nervously a lot during this show. That was disappointing for me. Shame on him. He is a predator.

I love this so much
My favorite podcast ever listened to love the physical pen testing episodes soo interesting and Jack’s voice is easy to listen to. And the ads are never blasting loud and in your face. Love to see it every month wish there were more that’s the only downside is I listen to the same ones over and over again but worth it. Keep it going Jack!!!!!!!

One problem
This show is great and I look forward to it every month. There’s only one problem: There aren’t enough episodes. I have to listen to the same episodes over and over. Keep up the good work Jack!

Howdy! I’m in 8th grade and am interested in pen testing. How do i get from a 8th grader to pen test

Thank you, Jack
This is by far the most intriguing podcast on the market today. I am not computer savvy, a coder, nor do I even know how to access the dark web. I look forward to your releases every month and hope you’re able to continue to do this for many years to come. Thanks for keeping a small town Kansas man entertained and abreast of the most interesting topics the podcast world has to offer. I que up episodes I’ve listened too several times just to play while I sleep. I appreciate you, sir. Thanks again.

Revised review
Updated review: I took away two stars because he gave incorrect information in the episode on Hieu Minh Ngo, and there is no way to contact Jack Rhysider to tell him that his information is incorrect. Wonder how often this happens. I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts and I can not believe I haven’t heard this one before now! So late to the party. ;-) Have been binging to get caught up. This podcast is so well done and the host is very pleasant to listen to.

Must listen!
Jack is one of those few with an amazing talent. His podcast are super interesting! Not only does he manage to find amazing guests time and time again, he also does an incredible job telling the stories those guests bring. I LOVE the format. Seeing a new episode in my feed always brings a smile to my face, as I know I’m in for a good time listening to the episode. Waiting patiently for the next one! Thank you, Jack, for all the work you have put into this podcast.

My Favorite Podcast
This has become my favorite podcast. The only bad thing about loving it so much is that I listen to it all the time and I’m almost caught up. Haha. If you love tech, hacking, and some good stories give this show a try. Thanks for all the time you put into making this podcast Jack. Oh, and I really enjoyed Bonus episode 11: Pink Panthers. I love a good heist story.

My favorite podcast ever!
I love this podcast! I work in tech and have always been fascinated by darker side of the internet. The stories told and guests featured here are varied in subject matter as well as which side of the proverbial fence the guest might find themselves standing on - which I love. Getting a window into the mind of a hacker or a pen-tester is not an opportunity one has often, and it’s FASCINATING! The pacing of the show is great, the music is awesome and the production value is TOP NOTCH. And Jack just has a way of seeming at once like an expert in the field but also like a bystander who’s just as floored as I am by what he’s being told. Knowledgeable, but grounded. I also love that he lets the story be told, but will sometimes cut in, often to echo the same things I’m thinking while listening - like “THIS IS CRAZY!” or “They did WHAT?!” It feels like I’m listening to a crazy story with a friend, even though I’m alone in my car. Haha. Jack can explain complicated technical concepts in a way that anyone can understand, which is truly a gift in itself. I’ve been a fan since the very first episode (when my tech career was just getting started) and I STILL get excited when I see a new episode has been published. I’ve learned a lot from this podcast over the years! I’m always recommending it and don’t expect to stop anytime soon. If you’re interested in technology, security, hacking or even just internet lore - this podcast does NOT disappoint.

Love this show!
I love podcasts, but don’t think I’ve written a review before. This pod is so good though. The stories are so compelling, fascinating, and well paced. Jack, gotta say the ones with your dad are among my favorites. He is so fun! The KFC “tv” story? Priceless. Im not a tech expert, just a basic enthusiast and you make the show accessible for everyone. I cannot recommend this podcast enough!

epic quality and content
wholly nonplussed to know there’s only one guy, jack rhysider, producing, cradle to grave, the every episode. researching, interviewing, recording, editing, etc. one exception, someone dope spins the music. i’ve heard eight episodes so far. towering, mind blowing stories. all meet or exceed the content and production value of podcasts like radiolab, selected shorts, this american life, criminal, etc. those shows have small production armies. i’ve been listening to podcasts for a decade and have never considered subscribing or donating. darknet will be the first. fr.

Exceptional
Top tier production, content, and delivery. Personally would like to see more stories narrated by Jack about events. Obviously don’t reduce quality, but would love to see content more frequently.

Security and Cyber Crime stories
Jack generally puts together an interesting story with back story and interviews generally around one topic. As a CIO, I’m always interested in cyber security. This podcast is more about the human element than the dry tech details and Jack Rhysider does a great job!

Just lying guests
This is full of guests who just lie. When a guest constantly smacks and says “um;” they’re lying. Plenty of ads as well. What a disappointment.

Why do programmers wear glasses? Because they can’t C#
Every episode is a new story, from phone phreaking to bank heists to criminals, this show never ceases to teach me something new about the dark side of the internet. Some of my favorite episodes are the ones on pen testing, Anom, and the world of fake degrees.
