I think that the MINOR political statements made for 30 seconds once an episode are not an issue because it isn’t affecting the opinions of the hosts 99.9 percent of the time. I appreciate getting as much additional information as possible and I think they stay mostly unbiased. Along with that, most people aren’t listening to the episodes to solve it; it is entertainment. Thank you for making a great show!

Can I use the word hate to describe her husband? Memememememe..he had gaslighted her for years & had torn her down. That poor woman sounded like she had such patience & a good heart. Not once did he consider her. Aaaargh..frustrating.

I have been trying real hard with Audiochuck to stay subscribed but all of them have become so boring that I keep zoning out. I’ve been loyal to crime junkie from the beginning but over the past few years Ashley’s rants and storytelling have been hard to follow. Well, a little google search and you will find out the reason her first shows were so good was because she stole word for word the writing of other researchers and reporters. So maybe the newer stories will never get better because she’s subpar at best. But now she wants to add in a lecture about politics? Nah, I’m out. This podcast isn’t good enough to go that route. And it’s very unprofessional because it takes away from the victims story. I’ll stick with Tenderfoot, Crime House and Ballen Studios. Where they know how to tell good stories and keep their political opinions out of it.

Absolutely love Crime Junkie! I’m proud to see where these ladies have grown to over the years and even prouder to see them use their platform to advocate for justice for victims and lend their voice to the very real problems we see in politics. On another note: to the conservatives who love to lurk, find a hobby. What do yall love to say when people don’t like something? Leave! Weirdos.

Boooooring…. Decent storytelling. The formula gets tiring. Sooooo many commercials- dear podcasters, we ALL just skip over the commercials, that’s why we’re listening to podcasts, drop the commercials lol Finally, their politics make me wanna throw up. Have to stop episodes from time to time. No one cares about your political views and we all don’t agree with you, I know I know… you’re in an echo chamber so you think everyone does, but… we don’t.

Regardless of someone’s beliefs, I think that Ashley and Brit care about the well being of people and finding justice. I’m not worried about agreeing or disagreeing with them, our morals match up. Ever wonder how his child out of wedlock will feel when this airs? You hide David’s “secret” of what happened to him, but are ok sharing this child’s father saying volatile things about his son? The racism alone is horrific to listen to and you should’ve had a specific warning for that. You usually go to great lengths to protect children, this isn’t clocking for me….

Yikessss! I love this podcast but why int he world would you play that audio knowing that child will grow up one day and will likely hear it? There is a boundary and I am used to the media and certain news sources being sleazy & crossing them. That is why I choose to listen to condensed and edited versions in podcasts. This used to be such a fun podcast until Ashley decided she was a junior detective. I wish she would go back to the original story telling and keep the investigating/ journalism on the deck investigates

As a regular listener, I don’t think current politics are the main reason for lower police funding. The shift really started in 2020, when anti-police protests gained momentum and many people pushed back against the size of police forces and their use of force—two issues that don’t necessarily go hand in hand. That movement had real consequences, and we’re seeing some of them play out now. While there are certainly bad cops, just like there are bad journalists who push misleading narratives, it’s important not to paint entire professions with the same brush. Also, Iran has been a threat for years. I have been to the Middle East on foreign affairs. No one wants a war, but sometimes it happens. Stop with the political antics, it’s exhausting from every side. Stick to TRUE CRIME,

Mary Yoder podcast allowed Ashley Flowers to state how liberal she is in bringing up cost of Iran War. Funny enough never heard her talk about how much the Ukraine war cost?!? Biased much. Her reporting is liberal hive mind slanted.

Crime Junkie is the OG and I love them for staying consistent in their mission. True crime needs morals imo otherwise you’re just exploiting people’s pain and suffering. For me that means a combo of good reporting, ensuring educational value for listeners, and above all else showing respect for victims/survivors/families. Ashley and Britt have always done all three, and as they’ve gotten bigger, they’ve only gotten better at & more ambitious with those goals. That’s a rare thing, truly. If you can no longer appreciate that because they said a thing one time about a war the president just started I am begging you to check yourself. This kind of outsized reaction is not normal. Long time listener of the show, I love the hosts dynamic and the depth of their investigation. I’ve seen a lot of people complain about not wanting to hear their political views which I rarely hear them express. Some reviews criticize the podcast for including political commentary, but that hasn’t been my experience. These moments are relatively rare and usually connected to the real-world context surrounding the cases. True crime doesn’t exist in a vacuum, and acknowledging broader issues can enhance the discussion rather than take away from it.

Love the stories! Political talk not great. Especially, when the soapbox was targeted at the wrong level of government

I love the sensitivity and in context discussions the hosts have. These are real people whose lives have been lost - I’m glad to hear the hosts point out systemic problems like corruption, lack of funding and government mismanagement. Keep the politics in!

Guys, if we’re being for real, we’re listening to a true crime podcast, so yeah… it will have stuff to do with politics, I think you guys are great!

Thank you for sharing not only what is happening with these cases but for also lending your support and sharing your thoughts about politics, lack of law enforcement in some cities,states and counties. Crimes are solved when you dig in with your team. So, thank you!

So I used to be a big fan of the show but not anymore. I can’t stand Brits voice or her commentary. It sounds so staged. They are nauseatingly valley girl, esp Brit. Like oh my goddd. Their shows are too short compared to other podcasts who cover the same murder. Their podcasts are 1-2 hours long and have more information in their shows than crime junkie. Plus other podcasts have less commercials than them and are twice as popular than crime junkie. Also stop with the politics. People who aren’t liberals do not like hearing you air your opinionated beliefs. You will lose listeners when you talk politics.

Liberal garbage. The was my favorite podcast until the hosts slid into their 2020-ish performative ‘ick’ of framing cases through their (now obvious) progressive lens. I want true crime reporting – not virtual signaling lectures.

Absolutely disgusted at some of these reviews rating the show 1 star for being too political. True crime is political. It is literal politics that elect our officials and the people who handle our loved ones who go missing. It is impossible to talk about true crime with civil servants without mentioning politics. Even then, there is limited political talk. Behind that, podcast is great. I love the light banter between Britt and Ashley, but that it’s limited. The story is told by fact with limited opinion. Also people complaining about the ads are hilarious. Like you do this for free then 🤣 People are dumb. This podcast is great.

As a libertarian enjoy the show when the girls stick to true crime, but hate the political insertions. There ate often many more facts not revealed than known.

Unfortunately, I recently decided to cancel my subscription. Over time, the inclusion of political commentary became more frequent and increasingly distracting. It often felt unnecessary to the narrative and did not add meaningful context or depth to the stories being told. In some instances, the commentary was factually questionable, which made it harder to trust the content. I come to podcasts like this for thoughtful storytelling and well-researched material, not for unsolicited personal opinions that feel out of place or unsupported.

Been listening weekly since 2019, leave politics out of it. Agree or not with your opinion I feel that atleast for myself this is an outlet to escape such talk and once it crosses that boundary it’s a huge turn off.

As soon as she started ranting about the war which is “not needed” and the billions were “waiting” I stopped listening to crime junkie. Keep the political opinions on a different podcast. Let’s focus on the cases!

Used to be a great show. The stories and awareness for under reported crimes was great. Brit is super annoying and has gotten worse. Then because it’s gotten so popular, the hosts think people care about their political opinions. We don’t. We are here for crime stories. Unsubscribed.

Just listened to an old episode from 2022 & at the beginning of the episode they made an emphasis on protecting & respecting their pronouns since the killer happens to be trans now . He stocked a women for 20yrs , RAPPED & MURDERED her and your worried about his pronouns . WTH !!!

I haven’t heard you talk too much about politics. But on the last episode, I listened to you definitely stated what you thought politically. Keep your opinions to crime we don’t follow you to hear your political opinion!!!!!

No one wants your political opinion…and considering you won’t pay AOM- you have no business popping off about money matters. 5 stars because I’m not a monster but seriously- just tell the story.

Crime junkies is hands-down, one of the most gripping true crime podcast out there. Every episode pulls you in from the very first minute and keeps you completely hooked until the end. The storytelling is clear, intense, and incredibly well paced never drags. You can tell how much research goes into each case, and the details are presented in a way that is both respectful and compelling. What really sets this podcast apart is how immersive it feels. It’s not just storytelling. It’s feeling like you’re right there, piecing together the case alongside the host. The tone strikes the perfect yawns between informative and emotionally gauging, without ever feeling overdone. If you’re ever slightly interested in true crimes, this podcast is a muscle listen. Once you start an episode, it’s almost impossible to stop just one. Britt and Ashley are amazing host. I love the music as well.

Ashley did a rant on underfunding of police and did everything but say directly “it’s Trump’s fault.” Ashley did you fail civics? Local and state police budgets are determined by the state and local governments. Unless you’re talking about a federal case, it has nothing to do with federal government. Also, wasn’t the party you likely vote for slashing police budgets in recent years?
