Meh
I am reviewing Season 6. I am working in north-eastern NC so I was interested in the events. While the host has obvious talent as an investigative journalist, there is nothing to this story except hearsay, rumors, and local gossip. The many interviews with known criminals, convicted criminals, and the uninformed are tiresome. No, I really don’t care what the convicted drug dealer with a history of violence and poor decision making has to say on the subject. There was some sketchy stuff going on for sure. But look at all the sketchy characters. Lay down with dogs-get up with fleas. The saddest thing about season 6 is the three young teens who “drowned” in the river. I wanted to know more about them. Not the ne’er-do-wells who continued to choose paths of death and destruction. Finally, I felt sorry for most of these people, unrelated to the Doug death, who continue to believe and draw energy from their own false narratives.

CounterClock is True Crime Done Right
If you’re looking for a true crime podcast that pulls you in from the first episode, CounterClock by Delia D’Ambra is it. The level of detail and work that goes into each season is truly impressive — you can tell Delia has done her homework, and every twist feels real and earned. Delia D’Ambra is a fantastic host — confident, intelligent, and clear. Her delivery and voice are perfect: easy to listen to, easy to follow, and just the right tone for the complex stories she tells. The first two seasons are my personal favorites — great whodunnit mysteries full of unexpected turns. If you love true crime with real investigative depth and a host who knows how to keep you hooked, you’ll love CounterClock.

“But you know me . . .”
I want to like this podcast but it’s hard to get past the self-aggrandizement. The narrator isn’t the most important part of the story but time and again we hear things like, “but you know me . . .” or other tired cliches that seek to make the narrator more important then they are. Good work speaks for itself. There’s no need to insert ego.

Never getting an answer
You could start on episode one and skip to the last episode and you wouldn’t miss anything. You’ll never get an answer or anything. You spend your time listening to an entire series ending the same way you started no answers. If you want something that has a conclusion don’t waste your time with this.

Season 7 is heartbreaking
This season made me lecture my children (again) on not talking to the cops without myself or a lawyer present. It reminded me to teach them about the tactics police will use to elicit a confession. If only these kids knew 💔

Great Content, but Content to Ad ratio isn’t great.
I like the content, as I do with most Audiochuck shows. My only real issue is the amount of ads; in a 26 minute episode I counted 5 minutes of ad content. I know they need to pay the bills, but the ratio seems off, and that the reason the episodes are so short are to maximize ad time throughout a season. That’s fine, I can skip the ads, but it’s so reminiscent of trying to watch a 90 minute movie on TNT that is stretched to 3-4 hours because of commercials that it feels like it cheapens the experience.

Amazing reporting!
This is a must-listen show. Binged season 1 in 2 days. She’s the real Delia!

Finally jumping in!
I’ve subscribed to the podcast for a while now, but hadn’t listened to it until today. I’ve binged the entire first season today. I’m totally sucked in!

Evil crazy granny!
Great story telling, had me yelling at the radio…as the suspects spewed such utter nonsense stories to investigators. Bees attacked him and his gun accidentally discharged? Puh-lease!!

In depth
As I listen to each season, I feel as though I am at the scene with the reporter. It’s like a good documentary for the ears.

My Top 5 list
I always look forward to a new season of this podcast. The detail and depth of the investigation should be applauded. Well done!

Delia You Did An Amazing Job With This Story!!!!! The Bonus Isn’t A Favourite For Me To Listen To ONLY BECAUSE OF YOUR VOICE AND ASHLEY VOICE CANT HANDLE THE WHINING VOICE OF THE TWO OF YOU!!!!!!

A lot of potential, all lost on complete nonsense
I really wanted to like this podcast; it had been many years since I listened to an earlier season and hoped the gift of experience would improve an articulate, promising and talented podcaster. Unfortunately, “Season Six” droned on with absurd theories culminating with a pathetic career criminal undeservingly being turned into a victim. Poor “Sparky” who -while fleeing police- killed himself and another when he wrecked his car. I wanted to vomit at the verbal gymnastics used to portray an obvious criminal harming the community of Greenville as a victim. Seriously- knock it off; use your talents on cases and circumstances of merit- not on theatrical attempts by those hoping to rewrite ugly history - they own- in their favor.

Devastated; Riveting; & complete injustice
So many emotions, completely invested and praying for all involved. Amazing work as always Delia.

Yet another . . .
Yet another self-aggrandizing podcaster digging up cold cases and pretending to solve them with decades-old circsumstancial hearsay. Complete with scary music in the background in case you realize this is all just self-promoting fluff.

Binge worthy
Fantastic! Interesting and informative.

Applaud your commitment
I admire the intellect and resilience of Amanda Knox. And I applaud Delia and Audiochuck for partnering with her for this episode and Three. Upping the game!!

Can’t get past her accent/diction/enunciation
I know it sounds petty, but when you have someone’s voice literally in your ears, it’s hard to get past certain quirks. I don’t know if Delia has an issue like tied tongue or something, but she speaks…. Oddly. Consonants are slurred, long i’s pronounced like ees, long o’s pronounced like uu, there are times I actually have to pause to process what she said because it’s a lot like listening to someone speaking a foreign language. If you’re someone who struggles with misophonia or pronunciation issues, this might not be the podcast for you. I can listen when I’m in the shower, with the sound of the water smoothing things for me.

Just Binge!
Thorough, Relentless, Engaging. I may be late to this podcast, but I’m making up for lost time, binging the first 5 seasons this past week! Ready to start season 6, but had to stop for a review. Love it!

Over time
Over time, CounterClock has gone from a brilliantly narrated and gripping whodunnit series to a social justice screed with inept and racist cops lurking in every case. If you come to the series wanting whodunnit, you will instead get he-didn’t-do-it because, well, you should know why.

Just Wow!
I was sucked into this podcast after hearing the ads for weeks. I turn on episode 1 and I’m immediately invested. Not because of the familial relationship of the victim but because Delia did an amazing job of investigating and researching case files, meeting with the key people at play for great interviews, editing is great too! Bittersweet story. RIP Nathaniel Jones, I pray you get true JUSTICE!

Expert Investigating
I’ve always enjoyed listening to Delia. She genuinely cares about getting to the truth. However, the most recent series took her investing to a whole other level. The quality and care she has taken to reveal the true story was incredible. I believe if she chose to, she could uncover who actually committed this crime.

Season 7
Well researched, with complex issues / timelines explained really clearly, host is transparent as her own research/thought process progresses. Looking forward to follow up as court case proceeds — and will be going back to listen to previous seasons.

Gone downhill
Seasons 1-3 were fantastic. Everything since has been pretty terrible.

Delia is the best
I wouldn’t consider myself a true crime podcast, junkie or anything, but I have tried to listen to other ones after being an avid fan of Delia and I cannot get through any episodes. The eloquence Delia puts into her episodes is unmatched. Season 7 is heartbreaking especially the bonus episode. If your a mom it will bring you to tears. I’m so invested and anxiously waiting more updates!

Used to love it
I enjoyed the first two seasons and love Delia’s thoroughness and narration. But lately the seasons have felt forced and I find myself forcing to finish. Maybe each season doesn’t need so many detailed episodes to complete the story.

Best investigative podcast!
The caliber of this podcast is so high for the true crime genre—Amazing job to Delia and her team! So thorough and respectful and honest. I hope your work helps solve and resolve these mysterious crimes that deserve true justice.

Love this podcast.
Delia and her investigative skills deserve an award. Especially season 7, which the bonus episode brought me to tears. I’ve listened to every season and it truly just keeps getting better!

Awesome Investigating!
If you love a true crime pod that talks about the case & not mostly banter between two ppl who are woefully ignorant about laws, customs & theories during a timeframe or region, this is for you! She clearly did & understands her homework & relays HER own research, not reading other people’s work.

First few seasons were the best
I really enjoyed season 1 and 2 but I’m finding it harder and harder to follow along with the newer seasons. I couldn’t even make it through episode 1 of season 7. I appreciate the first account interviews but I think they are possibly distracting me from the story telling.

Love this podcast
Delia, you’re an awesome reporter. I love the detail and the careful way you protect the dignity of your stories and the people you speak about.

Really good, but please…
This is amazing and some of the best in true crime podcast. The only thing I would say is please stop saying “but you know me” or use “I” so much every episode… we know it’s you and your awesome so you don’t have to sell it

Avid listener
I have loved listening to the first six seasons of CounterClock. I chose this podcast because of the ‘clean’ rating. I appreciate hearing the stories without the language. It was disappointing to hear foul language in episode 3. I hope this was just a missed edit and not an indication of a change in the program’s rating.

I LOVE the podcast!!!
Delia is an amazing reporter!! I love the different perspectives!! I just can’t stop listening! I’ve listened to 2 sessions TODAY!! Thank you Delia for this masterpiece of a podcast!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Amazing Storytelling!
Deliha has an amazing ability to tell a story and place you right in the middle of it all! More than highly recommend! You won’t regret a second. Not to mention the great causes/stories that need the exposure. I hate when it ends and I need to wait for the next season.

Well I love detail and twists n turns… that being said my god these are hard to follow stories. There are ten episodes and in the second I’ve got to do homework and catch up just to know what’s going on. I started with season 7 and want to go back now to give it a fair shot. I can’t even tell who or what this season is about it’s just all the things. Drugs? I don’t know lol.

Not up to your usual standard
I'm a big audiochuck fan, but disappointed with the quality story of this season. I've faithfully listened to every season of CC. This is my least favorite of all of them.
Am I addicted or annoyed?
Sounds like a parody
The self-important tone, the case being “blown open” in the next episode (fr u guys), disingenuously claiming they’re “doing this for the victims”, it’s cliches all around.
dluh
Nothing entertaining here
This podcast chops up every detail into 20 or minute clips - 14, 18, 20 "episodes," each, prolonged by interspersed ads. I'm fine with ads, but not with so many crammed into an 18 minute segment or, episodes as the makers have the temerity to label them as. NEXT!

Love audio chuck !
Delia I love you ! Your investigation and reporting is impeccable. I love getting all the different sides of the story from so many people that knew the victim when they were still alive. The many perspectives is a total game changer!!

Bias Misleading and Partially Reported
This may have been the most bias and pathetic reporting ever.
Melewe
Voyeurism?
Recently learned that not a single case has been solved or a single person exonerated as a result of this investigative work. The hosts entitled pursuit of information from civilians is off-putting, and, I suspect, emboldened by their family ties to law enforcement. While the work is beneficial, the hosts arrogance and entitlement in seeking information leaves me feeling gross.

Argghh!!!
I can only listen to one episode a day, because this story is making me so angry!

FABULOUS Podcast Series
I love this series so much. Every season has been so good. I can’t wait for more. If I could have given the show 10 stars, I would have.

Just…
Love Delia and her content!! Done w the frequent advert of Ashley’s about the number one podcast and her team of journalists, which has an arrogant or boastful air about it..or maybe it’s just played way too often…
