Started off interesting, back when Musk would occasionally reply to some of his posts and his page actually got engagement on X. How to burn your “brand?” Hire two incredibly off-putting hosts, one of whom rarely speaks (from within the industry, of course), transition to a newsletter that seems more like an ad platform than actual news, and host interviews that are really just sales pitches.

Started out as a cool podcast. It’s just turned into the person being interviewed bragging about themselves.

Started out strong but now just a commercial for whoever is on never ask tough questions

I recently started listening to the show and now look forward to listening daily. The only downfall to listening during my commute is the inability to take notes. I started listening a second time to jot down notes and how I want to apply some of the things shared on the show. Thanks for a great product, keep up the great work CDG team!

Really appreciate the range of guests they bring on Daily Dealer Live — makes for super dynamic conversations every time. Yossi and Sam also do a great job cutting through the fluff and getting straight to the good stuff with their questions. I recently had the chance to join them to chat about rideshare and autonomy (topics I cover in my newsletter, The Driverless Digest) and it was a genuinely insightful convo. Definitely one of the more thoughtful industry shows out there.

Started week ago now I listen daily commuting to work.

I like most of the guest that he has on and the topics that they discuss. One suggestion I have for him that hopefully he can work on, it didn’t seem as bad in the beginning when he started this podcast but now it almost overpowers the conversation when the guest is talking. He will say “Yeah” or mhm” while the individual is talking and sometimes can’t even finish their point that they were trying to make. I understand you want to stay engaged with that person in the conversation but it’s a little to much.

I’m not even in the car business, but as a car junkie I look forward to every episode. Always new information about an incredibly complicated and interesting business.

I’m not in the car business but I enjoy hearing the ins and outs of the industry and find it can provide great conversation fodder. I often find myself repeating something I’ve learned here. Just about everyone has a car, so at some point there is relevant info for almost anyone, as well as psychology and just good business skills.

This a great podcast for anyone in the car business. No matter how long you been working in it, you’ll learn something new, and gain a different perspective on challenges facing the industry.

Outstanding discussion with a brilliant guy. Every week, this show shines a light on another interesting aspect of the car business that you hear no where else. Always well worth a listen!

You make your guests call you Car Dealership Guy?!?!? You are not a CIA undercover agent, you’re literally just a car dealership guy. You can just hear the dripping contempt from your most recent guests that they have to call you that. Plus, soften up your follow up questions; you tend to be quite brusque when you ask “why do you say that” or “what makes you think that”. I’d be put off by that - especially if I have to talk to an avatar (on your video cast).

Like your show. Autonomous vehicles is a huge market. I think Ghost is doing some great things. Can’t wait to ride with their tech doing the driving. Pure storage was a smashing success and I’d bet Ghost will be too.

I worked in the industry for a whole six months…20 years ago. But, that was enough to get me plugged into the car sales world big time. Your show is not only awesome, but you are getting some epic big players to interview. Keep it up!

This is one of my favorite podcasts. I’m a life-long car nerd who’s always been interested in the business, and CarDealershipGuy provides outstanding and knowledgeable perspective from the dealership level. He explains each topic and provides his perspective on what it means, and he doesn’t waste a lot of time in the process. This is a great follow for anyone even casually interested in the car business.

I work in management at a new car dealership and appreciate the information that is posted or discussed on this podcast and social media. If I had one suggestion it would be to let us know who you are, what’s the big deal ? I’m guessing that it’s due to the subject matter being discussed and you don’t want to mix your day to day retail dealership business with your side hustle car dealership guy accounts/ podcast which are both solid !

Excellent words , informative, I’m creating a car business , totally different than the old and obsolete system that rip off Humanity. Any advice for a business that’s going to change the way that people buy and sell cars?

This podcast feels like being cornered by a used car salesman at a party. Now imagine that guy is just regurgitating old Automotive News headlines and crowbarring in crypto bro terms and sweeping claims about the supply chain and lenders. “The macroeconomic delta is showing real upside for used car supply in April and I’ll keep you posted if you hit like and subscribe …” This is no Cars & Culture or CarTalk, just one-take ramble/blather that sounds like it was recorded in a dealership office on a laptop mic.

Too short and lack of preparation. Stumbles and needs editing. Perhaps wait on podcasting until longer more substantive issues can be addressed.

Normal guy. Easy to understand.

Really interesting podcast on the auto industry. I found it insightful and easy to understand. The first episode was short and sweet but I’m excited for the next drop!
