I LOVE THIS PODCAST!
This podcast has helped me so much! Navigating parenting my strong willed son and also learning how to let go of my own parental anxiety. I love this style of parenting so much. Thankyou Kirk for helping us parents who are trying our best!

The willful child; aka the ADHD child, the gifted child, and the challenging child all in one human.
I love how Kirk supports my intuitive parenting when navigating the “strong willed child.” Aka the ADHD child who teeters on the edge of greatness and failure. It can be so frustrating, I know because 3 of my 4 children have ADHD diagnoses. When my husband says of our oldest, “he’s so difficult!” I say, “he has always been difficult, don’t you remember?” But he has always been so memorable and creative, a loyal friend, and a polite house guest at other people’s homes. Thanks to Kirk for giving us moms some credit for navigating these difficult parenting moments while also giving us some constructive advise for what to let go of and how to harness our willful children’s gifts and talents as we prepare them to be successful adults!

Always on Point
Kirk is always so timely with his parenting advice. His last episode came at the time that I needed to hear to validate exactly what I was experiencing. Intuitively, I did what he ingested to do when around judgmental family members. I’m happy I took time to be away from overwhelming people and situations. I could also use some tips on dealing with a grumpy husband who has adult tantrums and is in denial of his triggers. Thanks and Keep ‘em shows on whiny kids coming!

So helpful, love the humor, too.
At the risk of sounding too dramatic, these podcasts have changed my type A life?! Kirk has helped my parenting immensely. He knows my strong willed child so well it’s as though he’s a fly on the wall in our house. I am so grateful to have these podcasts and his advice as it has shown me how to understand my kids. I have a lot more compassion and patience just through this understanding. Kirk helps you see how to equip your children with skills vs our natural inclination to punish my children and throw down consequences. Perhaps most importantly, I have learned so much about myself. A fellow type A control freak, this has been a fantastic reckoning for me. My anxiety causes a lot of the flare ups in our house. Kirk always makes me laugh, too. Thank you so much from
our family.

Parenting podcast or commercials
I enjoy hearing parenting podcast, but the first couple of minutes I was already turned off. He started out with an ad, talked a little bit about parenting and then another Ad. We want to hear on how to help our children not what makes this podcast money with all the Ads and codes.
Spectrum friendly 🫶🏼
Thank you
I love this podcast Kirk. This morning was really hard with my almost-4-year-old. Meltdowns, mood swings…from both of us. And I dropped him off at daycare feeling so much guilt for losing my calm with him. So I came to your podcast (which I need to do more regularly) and you’ve reminded me that it’s going to be ok. I can fix MY behavior and better understand what works best with my strong willed, amazing little human.
Thank you ❤️

Love it!
This is my favorite parenting podcast. It’s relatable and balanced. I know it sounds bad but I listen to each episode at least twice because his calming voice puts me to sleep. I’m not complaining, I tell myself I listen once for my subconscious and once or twice for my conscious mind.

It made me cry. My husband said after he listened that it sounded like you interviewed me. Thank you for your encouragement and wisdom for dealing with strong willed ADHD kids.

Thank you!
I couldn’t thank you enough. I’ve been a subscriber for some time now…but I had my first listen and I’m going to go back to the beginning and listen to them ALL. Are you sure you’re not speaking directly to me? Great cast I’m really looking forward to the future of your casting and parenting.

So helpful
Was at my wits end today- exasperated with my kids behavior and for the first time being really resentful of having to spend any more time with him. I was gutted. I started combing through podcasts to help me through and found this. I related to SO many of the behaviors and situations described and felt so validated that my kid IS different. AND there’s nothing wrong with that AND he will be fine AND here are a handful of things you can implement TODAY to help your life and family run a little smoother. Going to bed with a lighter weight on my shoulders tonight 💙

So helpful
The best thing about this podcast is he doesn’t sugar coat. The situations he describes are so relatable, and he gives very clear explanations of why it’s happening and what to do instead. Sometimes parenting tips are EITHER about mindset shifts OR practical tools but this podcast gives both. Thank you Kirk!!

God Sent!
I found this podcast at a time I thought all was lost with my son. I was truly at the bottom. The screaming, defiance, the hurt and struggles were overwhelming. Kirk’s podcast changed our life. I purchased his kits and did the ADHD university and it changed my view of my son and helped me understand life through his eyes. It’s not perfect, but life is absolutely different than it was before! I can’t thank Kirk enough for using his experience to touch the lives of so many others! God bless you Kirk and all the goodness and hope you are putting out into the world!

Somehow every episode seems to be exactly what I needed to hear. It’s been so helpful for me learning to interact better/differently with my kids! Love the honesty and many realistic ideas that I can put into action right away!

It’s working!
Like Kirk I almost ruined my relationship with my oldest strong willed son, so with my youngest son I knew I wanted to do things differently. I’ve implemented several of his strategies and it’s been a game changer for us. Thanks so much!

The parenting coach I needed
ADHD mom here with strong willed boys. First I really appreciate’s Kirk’s advice and practical tips, some of which I knew from other ADHD parenting resources and some of which are new to me. Second, what I might appreciate even more than the advice is the positive coaching. Parenting is hard, and to be able to play an episode or two each week where someone who gets it “whispers” words of encouragement in your ears is invaluable.

not at all what I expected
To be fair, I only listened to one episode, but I found some of the perspectives shared troubling.
In the opening minutes of one episode, the host dismissed the value of preschool 'circle time,' calling it 'stupid.' As a preschool educator with a decade of experience, I can attest to the immense importance of circle time in fostering communication, social skills, and emotional development. The host also mentioned that he has never needed to sit in a circle to listen or share ideas 'after the age of five or seven.' It's unfortunate that he seems to overlook how these early learning experiences are foundational to skills used in business meetings and many other adult interactions.
Later in the episode, the host made light of how a child's tantrum in public can 'embarrass' parents. I found it disheartening, even in jest, to hear him suggest that children are intentionally trying to embarrass their parents. In reality, young children are still learning to regulate their emotions and often lack the awareness to intentionally upset others.
While I understand that this podcast may resonate with many listeners, it wasn’t quite what I had anticipated, and I was ultimately disappointed by the perspectives shared

I love this podcast. I love the practical ideas, the reframing of perspective and the passion Kirk brings to the topic of parenting. I am a better parent because of the things I have learned here and I recommend it all the time.

Helpful & Healing
The helpful insights these episodes give me are just so invaluable. I know these things deep down, but have a hard time implementing sometimes. Or I get bogged down worrying about damage already done. I know I have things to improve in my parenting style. I SO appreciate hearing them from a source of understanding and learn ways that I can improve for my family. Thank you so much!

Amazing Insights
I feel like I could listen to this podcast over and over again and still learn something new each time. My third child is a button pushing wild man who I adore but the tricks you've shared have helped us become closer and taken away the power struggle I've always had with him. Thank you for helping me learn how to control myself rather than letting him control my emotions. So eye opening.

As a grandparent
I found your podcast because my son is listening to it to help him parent his difficult/different children and not be the parent he grew up with.
I have been working through my own flaws, but not knowing how to deal with the things that my grandchildren trigger in me that my own children did as they were growing up. This podcast has been a life and relationship saver. Thank you for your heart to help families grow and be better.

LIFE CHANGING
I found this podcast 10 days ago, completely desperate and feeling so resentful, guilty and heartbroken over my relationship with my child. THIS WORKED INSTANTLY. It’s like reading a checklist about my kid- I am happy again. The mood in our family has entirely shifted. AMAZING !!!!!!!!

I love this podcast!!!
This is my second review because it’s just that good!!! Please keep pumping out this content! I believe our children need regulated parents who do the work to heal from their childhood and don’t perpetuate the trauma! We need to come to terms with the fact we have control issues and many of these battles with our children are rooted in our own issues, temperament, and attitude toward our kiddos! I highly recommend listening to this podcast regularly. It will change your relationship with your children and yourself!

Much Needed Information
I wish what was covered in this podcast was common knowledge when I was growing up. What were typical childhood issues in my house turned into yelling, screaming, arguing, an Adderall prescription, and in turn, fear and anxiety towards my parents and the educational system. Then and now I’ve thought, “There must be a better way,” and today I’m glad to know that there is! I’m nearly finished with a master’s in early childhood education. I look forward to sharing this podcast with others so that we as a society can bring out the best in ourselves and our innocent children.

I hope you will create a program designed for teachers! Professional development?
Teachers are really on the front lines and are a huge factor in how our kids see themselves.

You sir, are a blessing.
You’re such an outstanding person, thank you for your time. I appreciate you for your vulnerability to share your experiences as well, acknowledging your mistakes. We all are proud of you! I know your parents would’ve been proud of you as well. May you and your family stay blessed. 🤞🏼✨
These episodes are SUPER helpful yet I can’t wait to purchase the package. I’ll be working on getting that.
Again, may you and your family stay prosperous!

Relatable!
Kirk has an amazing podcast and paid program online - 100% worth it all. His program made me feel heard, understood, and gave actionable tools to work on bettering my relationship with my daughter. He was super responsive to some questions I had via email. His advice was better than that from my therapist! A+ advice!

Stressful tone for a “calm parenting” podcast
2 things:
So I want to really like this podcast, but I feel like the podcaster is really worked up and almost yelling. Perhaps it’s just passion, but it’s sort of a stressful listen. I’d like to get the same information but maybe a less aggressive tone.
Also- feels like one big add to buy his program
I hate this APP!!!!!!!!@#@
Thank you!
Just have to say thank you for a family win last night. We were on the verge of a major homework meltdown and I left the room and asked, "What would I do differently if I applied what I have learned from calm parenting?" Then I thought of how my child loves helping others with their problems so I reentered the room and role played the math problem as if I was a customer in need of help at the store and she was the worker who had to solve my problem. Total meltdown turn around!! Suddenly, she knew how to do the math problem. Next, my daughter had to practice her instrument and I knew this would be another possible meltdown. To get ahead of it I applied the idea of making a fun place to have her practice by creating a blanket fort. (I chose this because she struggles with perfectionism so this gave her a sense of privacy but she could still be close to the family.) When someone asked her why she was doing this she responded confidently, "This isn't a free concert, I'm just practicing!" The best part of all this was before the night was over my non snuggly tween crawled up on my lap and gave me a big hug as she let out a big breathe. It was like she was saying, "Thanks for getting me."
Again, thank you!!!

Great Podcast!
I am glad I finally found this well balanced podcast! I listened to another podcast previous to this about how to parent without punishments or consequences and it was making life very miserable in our house (I would recommend staying away from those type of podcasts). This podcast is great because he doesn’t say don’t do those things, instead, he focuses on connection, remaining calm, self control as a parent, and finding the root cause of misbehavior; however, when done in a calm manner, punishments are still necessary and relevant in parenting. We are never going to be the parents who just don’t punish or correct our kids, and that was making everything worse in our house! This podcast helps me to focus on staying calm and focusing on connection, which in turn results in better behavior from our kids. I highly recommend this podcast.

Real life parenting help!
This podcast has been very helpful in dealing with my strong willed 5 year old! I’ve been working through the courses as well (thanks for keeping them so affordable and easily accessible). I really love the real life examples on the podcast, even of parents not doing it perfectly. It really helps to know none of us are going to parent perfectly but there is grace in learning!

Bull
I listened to about 20 minutes across two episodes, and that is all it took to realize that this guy has no experience with a kid who has to be asked six times to brush his teeth over the course of an hour, for just one example of how a kid could not listen to a calm, non-anxious parent. It’s not always the parent’s fault.

Most helpful parenting podcast
This is the most helpful parenting podcast I have come across (and I listen to a lot)! Kirk gives practical examples, scripts, and tangible ideas of how to respond to our kids in a variety of situations. The short format helps keep the concepts fresh in my mind for when these situations come up in real life. So thankful for this podcast and these resources!
