I use to be able to handle the blue tint to this podcast but it is just getting ridiculous at this point.

I think Business Wars is the greatest idea for a podcast! In fact, I’m thinking of writing a book series about brand rivalries. Yet, please, listen to the requests of these reviews. Go back to “This vs. That” instead of “The Blah Blah Blah Debacle.” And please go back to 6, 7, 8 episodes instead of these 3-episode teaser seasons. I think there should be seasons on Frito-Lay vs. Pringles, Empire State vs. Chrysler, Minute Maid vs. Tropicana, or Kodak vs. Polaroid. What about you take the stories (like “AOL Time-Warner” or “Southwest”) and make a new podcast, Business Disasters?

Recently they've started "mansplaining" things during the podcast, and it really takes you out of what you're listening to. You have great stories and a great storyteller, why spoil it by trying to put your spin on things business related that we all already know? Can we go back to the product of the first 35+ seasons, please?

Flipping the Bird was so one sided and short-sighted that it brings down this entire series. You guys are better than that.

I’ve been a listener since this podcast started and have enjoyed dozens of seasons. Most of the bias in most seasons I could shrug off, but when it came to a topic I was personally familiar with, the bias of the writers turned to absolute propaganda. I cannot abide by it any longer. It saddens me but I am just leaving Wondery podcasts (6 in total) as a whole because it’s become too much. This saddens me, but it spans your entire network. Good luck to you all.

I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt because you’ve created such good seasons, but this first episode is starting to sound like a complete attack on Elon Musk as opposed to a history of the Twitter purchase.

I love the show and give it 5 stars but I don’t enjoy the new format in newer seasons like 23 and me. Please go back to the old format👍. Other than that this is a great show.

Business Wars is easily one of my favorite podcasts—especially when it covers companies or industries I’m already interested in. The storytelling is sharp, and the narrator’s tone and pacing do a great job of keeping me engaged from start to finish. I always look forward to the next episode. Wondery continues to impress me with their podcast lineup, and Business Wars is a standout example of why.

Go back to the original format and drop the elementary commentary

Just can’t bear the ‘acting’. Would rather it was all done by one narrator.

Brilliant podcast. I really enjoy these! Even the ones I think I won’t like, I always end up learning new things and enjoy the narrator. Great podcast! Wondery has more quality than Netflix and hbo max combined 🫶💪 solid! This guy is well researched and I like the fact his podcasts are minimally political in nature unlike some of the other shows on the network where it feels pushed throughout.

I love this podcast, David brown is a amazing host, less ads than other wondery podcasts I listen to, so that’s a plus, I would like to echo the request for a Trek Vs. Specialized series, as a cyclist, I would absolutely love that. Would be 5 stars but I feel like it’s turned from buisness wars to buisness analysis

Great show. Featuring an extremist who fabricates evidence and massages stories to fit their ideological view of the world is inappropriate. Continued support of extremism, especially in the media, is having significant harmful effects on America.

I used to really enjoy these stories, and tolerated the once or twice per serious commentary additions. Now, every episode is sprinkled with 4-5 basic business concepts disguised as a teaching moment. Seriously-just stick to the story.

I’m 16 and I’ve loved this pod since May 2022. I love listening to this because David is such a good storyteller and I love the special effects. It’s my favorite storytelling podcast around! I love it so much I’ve binged every season! Keep it up!!

This show is great, but I’d really like to see a robotic vacuum wars season.

One of my favorite podcasts! I got especially nostalgic with the Showbiz versus Chuck E. Cheese season. What I can’t get my mind around though is how come you haven’t done Zildjian versus Sabian yet?? It’s one of the greatest rivalries of the music world, and it’s between two brothers! You couldn’t ask for a better drama. Please consider it for a future season.

Great quality content, research, story-telling and presentation, i’m hooked. The ads though, are so terrible and cringey, esp the Monica Lewinsky, one that it’s a great motivation to pay subscription.

Business Wars continues to sprinkle their podcasts with disinformation. They’ve been doing it for years. The latest example? No, George Floyd wasn’t murdered by a Minneapolis police officer. He had enough fentanyl in his body to kill a horse and was claiming he couldn’t breathe long before his encounter with Derek Chauvin. Nice try.

Great show with excellent narration, sounds effects and storyline.

The stories are so interesting but the voices used in the sections of dialogue make me cringe. It makes everyone sound like total jerks or total idiots.

Best shout-out ever to Chris’s Burger, La Puente, CA! This place is right across the street from my high school and was a hangout for my friends and I. (class of 1983!). Enjoyable episode that I’ve sent to as many classmates that I could find.

Interesting stories and fairly well researched, but the re-enactments are fan fiction at best. They make everyone seem like petulant children that speak in exposition that is not normal in everyday conversation. These re-enactments make the podcast very bizarre and at times uncomfortable to listen to.

The political bias is really starting to come through and laughable when listening to recent episode that said CNN wanted a balanced presentation of news.

Now that they’re paywalling episodes they’ve lost me

I knew a little bit about chatbots and artificial intelligence, and had listened to Season 87 (The Rise of AI) in October 2023, but was unable to quite “fit the pieces together” in my brain at that time. I just recently started listening to Season 93 (Sam Altman & The Battle for OpenAI) and realized I needed to go back to Season 87 and “re-listen,” which then helped me to better understand what was happening with OpenAI in November 2023 and the few months thereafter (Season 93). Thanks so much for your great podcasts and a lot of the backstory of the various companies/topics that are covered — ones that may only be briefly mentioned in the news media/TV. Business Wars is one of my favorite podcasts!

I love this show but this series has several small mistakes that make me start to question the fact checking behind it. The Quiznos franchisees from Pennsylvania were from Coopersburg, not Cooperstown. And it references a loan from the ‘Small Business Association’ when it’s actually pretty well known that SBA stands for Small Business Administration.

Thanks for doing this series. As a lifelong fan of all brands of 4x4s and a 20 year jeep owner, I’m excited you are telling this story. I write this review to let you know if a little mistake I found at the end of episode 2. The narrator says “Ford vs. Bronco” not “Jeep vs. Bronco”.

Really well researched well told stories that pull you in. The only thing I find a distraction from the story telling is those weird sound effects and voices you add in. They don’t contribute to the story or its comprehension or create any kind of atmosphere, but instead make the wonderful storytelling sound cliched and cheesy.
