Bontemp’s fiery, reasoned commentary contrasts well with Wendy’s engaging, occasionally self promoting, ‘shoot from the hip’ style. McMann has replaced 50 percent of his curmudgeonly-ness with better natured, self deprecating humor, making him a a perfect Wendy and Bontemps arbiter.

“I don’t want to talk about tanking” Talks about tanking for 20 minutes. “We talk about the NBA” Talks about his vacations for 20 minutes. “As a quick aside…” Sidetracks the pod for 20 minutes. This is a joke now. How are the most connected NBA media figures and journalists so undisciplined? Let Bontemps host the show for the love of god, or McMahon - at least at that point there’s no pretext for learning anything new

Enjoy the show. Seldom miss it. Somebody please tell Brian he botches the less/fewer rule at least once every episode. Less is used to describe a diminishing amount of something singular such as less time or less effort. Plural concepts such as minutes or points require the use of fewer. (You can’t play “less minutes.” That’s not a thing.) Cheers, guys!

Big fan of the show. Can you guys discuss how and why the front office has ruined Curry’s golden years? This roster is dreadful. Barely above G league level. It’s obvious Kerr can still coach but he has been given dreck to work with these last few seasons.

Cuz he sucks. That guy is a wet blanket with no sense of humor, bad, repetitive takes and a shaky handle on basic facts. And when he finds a bad joke he repeats it a hundred times. The other guys without the marble-mouth southern accent are good. The guy I’m talking about is sooo bad.

They’ve lost me this season. The show has just become them disclaiming that they are “reporting,” begging not to be aggregated, and giving lame revisionist takes to redeem their earlier misapprehensions (Clippers will be great in 25/6, OKC headed for 70+ wins). They didn’t preview or give any indication they had the slightest clue about any of the major deals that defined the very active trade deadline. If I’m going to listen to a bunch of guys shoot the bull, I’ll listen to my friends - who are actually likable.

Brian is extremely knowledgeable and offers a lot of insight into the NBA. However, the podcast suffers because the two co-hosts often interrupt, which makes it difficult to listen. In my opinion, they also lack strong or thoughtful takes. I’ve tried tuning in from time to time, but the chemistry between them just doesn’t work. I really enjoy Brian’s analysis and would listen consistently if the co-hosts were different.

Even with Bontempt’s sometimes serial interrupting, I am hooked to this pod.

The only way I can listen to this podcast is if I skip ahead every time Bontempts talks. it’s 2-3 minutes straight of skips, but it’s the only way my brain doesn’t explode.

Does anyone else mistake Windy in the new logo for Our Lady of Guadalupe?

As a Wolves fan, it is getting pretty old not hearing but a peep about this team that has been to the Western Conference finals twice. You don’t have to love them, but how about a little discussion like you give many other top tier teams? What would push them up. What is holding them back? Pretend like you are a parent and every kiddo is loved and worthy, not just the premed student. :)

Like the dynamic of regulars and they off each other well. Each has a different skill set. Bontempts supports his comments with data. I like that. Windy is great on tv and a tad rough on pod. Dont underestimate Texas boy. Strong takes.

This show used to stand out because of how they stuck to covering the players, teams and player movement. Lately, they seem to be running cover for the league as it attempts to sports wash Dubai, even sending Windy to Dubai numerous times. Meanwhile, UAE is murdering Sudanese by the thousands. NBA fans don’t care about what the owners are doing to get richer! They ran cover on Steve Ballmer, Chauncey Billups, etc… It’s hard to look past the league’s shortcomings on human rights and fair play when a pod that used to be great keeps running PR for the league’s obvious shortcomings.

Most of the low-star reviews come from low-star people. Keep up the good work fellas.

Bontemps is too much. He is constantly interrupting others on the pod and corrects everything. He thinks his opinion is better than everyone else and he believes he’s always right. The show needs to replace him as a regular and use him in a more part time basis.

Bontemps consistently doesn’t know what the point of the conversation is by making completely irrelevant and distracting comments. He incessantly interrupts, and seems to care far more about critiquing other than actually talking basketball. The question I ask myself literally every time I go to listen is “Can I tolerate Bontemps today?”

Tim, you must stop interrupting. All your tiny persnickety corrections should be offered AFTER not during the other person’s opinion. It’s very simple, just hold your (usually minuscule) thought until the other person has finished speaking. Should’ve learned that in kindergarten but obviously never did.

NBA basketball junkie here who loves the game. Hoop collective is a must listen for me. Love, the banter, the speculation, and the humor of the three. Thanks for adding Vinny Goodwill!! He’s a great listen as well.

Unlistenable thanks to Bontemps. I’m not sure what his issue is, but it’s just intolerable. It’s a shame, because I enjoy Windhorst, MacMahon and the new additions. But I’m finally unsubscribing. There’s so much better content to listen to than Bontemps’ incessant teasing and negativity.

Far more entertaining with the addition of guests Anthony Slayer and Vince Goodhill. (Huge upgrade in listenability.). Please have them often as your guests. They don't whine and have excellent insights as legitimate insiders. Thank you!

It’s a decent listen to have on the background while you’re doing data entry at work but they spend about 5 episodes every offseason trying to get Giannis to a big market team. Even they have to be sick of it at this point

But your Clippers bootlicking has me questioning your integrity. I am still waiting for any journalists with actual connections to state the obvious. Your bending over backwards to create explanations/excuses for Ballmer and Co. is nauseating. I had to turn off the last two episodes midstream.

Disappointed to hear misinformation as the hosts decided shilling for a billionaire owner was more important than honesty. This longtime listener has unsubscribed and won’t be listening again. If you don’t have integrity, why would I trust what you have to say?

I usually listen to this podcast, because the basketball talk is good enough and banter can be fun. The latest episode where the gang bends over backwards to carry Steve Ballmer’s water was rough. Ramona was lead fart sniffer, but they all came off kinda pathetic. I’m just glad Zach Lowe is back on!
