-12. In these verses, James explains the power and danger of our speech. As Christians, our speech should be consistent with what we claim to believe. And yet, so often, our speech reveals that we have a divided heart. But the gospel gives us hope! Because Jesus died for our sins of speech, like every other sin, we can begin to put off our old way of speaking to and we can begin to honor the Lord and others with what we say.
