New to beekeeping and his podcast helped me make an A in my college beekeeping course and helped me start my first hives!

This has been a lifesaver for me. I’m a hobby beekeeper with the memory of a fish and bad ADHD. Every late February when I go into my hives again after winter it’s like I’ve forgotten everything and have to start all over again. This guy is so clear in his explanations and he helps remind me of the stuff that I already know, plus teaches me some new stuff too. l love that I can listen when I drive from one place to another. I am addicted- I can’t stop listening!

Enjoy the show! Likely has stopped me from more mistakes than I could guess and clearly has impacted my beekeeping style to the betterment of my hives.

I grew up with my dad and grandpa having bees, they had no idea what they were doing. I’ve recently gotten into it and was gifted a nuke for my birthday coming up! Started listening to this podcast to prepare and gather information for being a good beekeeper. I binged 20 episodes in a day and have learned so much! Jeff is very informational and is a great speaker, he also does a great job keeping your attention! I can’t wait to listen to more. I was excited about my first nuke, after listening to BfN I’ve become obsessed!

Jeff breaks it down for new beekeepers who are serious about starting the journey and supports them in the process. He absolutely means it when he says contact him if you have a question. Delightful.

Really awesome podcast! There’s a ton of YouTube out there, but to digest all this long form content this podcast is incredible! Especially if you don’t have time to sit down and watch a video he really gets into details in the passion and fun of beekeeping he brings his daughter in. It inspired me to get my six-year-old who was a little bee suit, ha! as he has shown a lot of interest it’s my first summer keeping bees and they are really fun to watch and I was a little nervous at first but the excitement of finding the queen, etc., thank you so so so much! For all the incredible information.

The podcast itself is fantastic. Each episode that’s about specific topics is clearly labeled and gives a great overview of those topics. The series is now my go-to for any questions I have. Jeff (the host) has also created an incredible discord where people can talk about bees and ask additional questions that, from what I’ve seen, always get answered by someone and Jeff is also very active answering most of the questions. It’s a great place to just talk about bees and the members have all been incredibly nice, helpful, and supportive to others when unfortunate beekeeping things happen (losing colonies, queens, etc.). It’s a podcast and a community. And they’re both incredible.

Jeff does such a great job sharing his knowledge and beekeeping information in a very digestible way. He’s also a genuinely good person. His kindness to others is a huge positive to me.

Great for instructing new and experience bee keeers (I’m the former… but just assuming for the latter.). Great job of getting to the point but without being boring or without story telling. Humble, honest, and covers a great range of topics.

I discovered Jeff and his show last summer and while I love the show, Jeff has been willing to personally offer advice about any issue I am having , using discord. It has really helped me work out what to do with some beekeeping issues I was too inexperienced to work out. He has been an online mentor to me and indispensable!A little membership fee is nothing compared to the good advice so , Thank you Jeff!

While it is obvious that the host is a very experienced bee keeper, he is not good at instructing beginners. He uses a lot of terminology without defining and describing the terms or helping explain why each is critical to keeping bees.

The beekeeping info is great and diving into preparedness stuff such as HAM radio etc brings a nice touch into some of the podcasts. Love the down to earth real life feel of the whole thing! I’m just starting the beekeeping education and was looking for a show that could bring me along step-by-step. Jeff has done a wonderful job at doing this! Thorough and just enough information in each episode to ingest the lesson.

1) Jeff explains everything simply, concisely, and often hilariously. He’s a straight-shooter who doesn’t make you feel stupid for not knowing stuff. 2) He isn’t crazy. Some of the bee podcasters out there are straight-up weirdos. 3) I am new to be keeping this year and wrote him about a problem I had. He responded quickly with options, great advice, and patience. 4) Jeff is, simply put, a nice, accessible guy who knows a lot about bees and will help you. And make you laugh.

He does a great job explaining things and sharing different things he has tried, what works for him, and also what other successful beekeepers do, etc. Will continue to listen and learn!

New beekeepers will find this podcast informative and light, and the way the host breaks down the episodes into specific topics is very well done.

Bees are fascinating, not so much the podcaster. Opinions about cities and regions and politicians…? I had hoped to hear more about beekeeping, not this. Have microphone, will ramble.

Being a newbee I have found this podcast very helpful and informative. Thank you Jeff for sharing your experience and wisdom about beekeeping. It helps make it less overwhelming for a newbee like me.

As a brand new backyard beekeeper, I have listened to every episode and I learn more and more. I can not express enough how information like Jeff provides here increases confidence and enjoyment of this hobby. Take a listen and an know you’ll agree.

Great info and podcast if you are just getting started. The ads at the beginning and end have a transition to a from the podcast but the ones in the middle are placed mid-sentence. The biggest issue is the volume of the ads is WAY higher than the volume of the rest of the podcast. If the volume on those ads could be leveled out this is easily a 5 star podcast.

I just installed my first package of bees this past Saturday and it’s great to follow along with these episodes as my colony gets established. This podcast is great for new beekeepers and has cleared a lot of questions up for me!

Jeff is awesome to listen to. Love that he has shared some of his challenges early on. My first nuc and hive are slated to arrive in a couple weeks — can’t wait!
