Stacey is so witty, smart, and cares deeply about this country. I love that there’s always actions provided so that we can each find something we can do instead of (or in addition to? 😅) spiraling.

Every time I think I can’t find anything good about the current political climate in this country, I listen to Stacey explain what’s happening and why we should fight to save this country. She breaks everything down so I can get a glimmer of understanding and gives us all strategies for fighting back against tyranny!

Stacey Abrams is so incredibly smart and such a skilled communicator. I’m grateful that she’s using her gifts with this podcast. She’s doing a number of things: educating and informing listeners; giving listeners and guests a place to gather for collective worries and concerns; disseminating ideas for how ordinary people—young and old—can DO something to serve, improve, and/or to protect their communities and people they care about, and keeping listeners balanced and fueled by encouraging joy, fun, humor, and emphasizing self-care. Assembly Required is smart, practical, and engaging, and it’s everything we need for these times and the years ahead.

I cannot think Stacey Abrams enough for all of the crucially important work that she does in this podcast. Not only does she inform, but, incredibly helpfully, she provides listeners with action items. In this most desolate time, many of us want to know what to do to help, and she provides us with strategic, realistic guidance.

One more action item for the July 10, 2025 show is learn how to swim. If you’re competent enough to save yourself get in the water and practice to become a stronger swimmer. The water is a wonderful place and if you can navigate it you will enjoy a vast area of Earth’s surface that you couldn’t before becoming a swimmer.

I appreciate Stacey’s thoughtful show but the audio has been misaligned the last couple episodes and it makes the content impossible to take in. I hope this is remedied soon.

Yikes! There were editing issues with 6/5 pod, with someone neglecting to take out a couple of Stacey’s outtakes. And then with the 6/12 pod, the audio of Stacey and the interviewee overlapped several times, and then there was dead air. Still giving it a 5 star, because the pod is generally solid, but someone has to catch that stuff.

She has written novels and run for office so having a pod is the next best thing to having her give us a bedtime story.

I’ve found a voice that I can trust and can give me hope for America’s future. Stacey’s guests are intelligent and dedicated to “we the people.” Thanks for this podcast.

Stacy Abrams has always been one of my favorite Democrats. I hope you become President Abrams some day!

Stacey is great, show content is great, but the advertising choices are off for this show. I know it’s a weird critique but they just don’t make sense. Some ads seem entirely misplaced for the content and the audience while other ads for say, health & wellness products, for example, feel like they’re backed by pseudoscience or it’s somebody’s cousin’s company and they got a discount on the spot.

Stacy is so smart and she brings in experts with whom she can have informative, deep conversations, each time about a specific issue. She doesn’t ramble, or shine a big light on herself, unlike many other podcasts! At the end of every episode, she is focused on how you, the listener, can make a difference. It is well worth your time to listen to her weekly podcast.

During this democratic party reckoning, shouldn’t your podcast also be hosting the little people like Dem political candidates who Trump voters ALSO voted for but who may not have won? Like Dr. Kristin Hook (D) who ran for Congress 2024 for TX 21st district? While she lost, Trump voters also voted for her! She also received zero funding from the DCC. Shouldn’t you invite more perspectives like her who can share lessons learned and how to influence Republican voters to vote for candidates like her? Love your heavy hitter guests but would also love to hear the stories of folks on the ground who can paint a more realistic pictures of how Dems are responsible for losing the 2024 election but how they can have a path forward for the midterms and 2028.

We need deep analysis, not just outrage. Stacey’s interviews are some of the most incisive I’ve found anywhere. And they leave me ready to roll up my sleeves. Woody Guthrie used to say, “If you don’t like the news go out and make some of your own.”

Stacy Abrams has been through the meat grinder! She knows what it’s going to take, long term, to overcome Trump’s onslaught! He and his cohorts have been planning this for over four years. We must strategic as well. Some of the battles are already being fought in the courts, others in rallies especially in red states. We have 3 years and many months to do the most important work we’ve ever had to do!

I appreciate Assembly Required for taking on difficult topics in a way that is both rational and human. Stacy brings both heart and mind to each topic. I especially value the weekly suggestions for ways to act on the information provided. I share my favorite episodes with fellow activists and friends whom I hope to activate. Keep up the great work!
