Like many, Dax and Monica are two of my very best friends. They are always there for me. They make me laugh. They share their lives with me. They teach me stuff and challenge how I think about myself and others. Of course, they have no idea who I am. But by sharing who they are, they make me better. Since we all need reliable friends (read: huge backlog)… more laughs (anything anonymous)… true vulnerability (Day 7, every fact check, and pretty much every episode)… learn more about everything (experts)… you found them, Dax Shepard and Monica Padman… oh, dare I forget Wobby Wob (Rob Holysz). Listen now to meet your new best friends. Last but not least, as the recent widow of a 100% disabled veteran due to PTSD (and all the related struggles)… Dax thank you so very much for boldly smashing the stigma of addiction.

If Dax was solo it would get 5 stars. Monica has made it where I can’t even listen. She never adds anything good, and usually interrupt something I’m enjoying when the adults are speaking. Dax does not need someone to keep him in check, he is inquisitive carries on a conversation well and dare I say quite delightful. Monica is the one that needs someone to keep her in check and by that I mean, have her not speak. I skip so many episodes now, just because Monica is that bad. I miss when I would run to my phone to see who the new interview was. Everything people say about Monica I echo. Please give us Dax ONLY back. Signed a woman of color

Dax and Monica have a special relationship and an awesome camaraderie. They bring on a variety of guests and it doesn't seem scripted so it is so entertaining. Dax sounds so genuinely interested in the guests. Monica is an amazing sidekick to clarify and follow up with the discussion. Whoever is the guest is always an entertaining and informative listen. I don't always want to listen to the fact check but I've grown to enjoy their banter about life and their openness about their lives. it helps develop credibility for them and their guests.

Just NO, to Monica. The more money she (undeservingly) makes the more insufferable she becomes. Someone else said it best… “Monica, stop talking”. I second that! 🤫 But can I also add, Monica, stop w the fake Dax laugh too!!! Stop w the baby voice. She is beyond talentless and has managed to ruin this podcast for me. What a shame because Dax is wonderful at this!! Monica, Ik you like to remind us all that you’re a KEY PLAYER, but you prove otherwise w your endless (& useless) interruptions while the guest is trying to share… The “WOW YEAHHH YESSS RIGHT” only detracts from each interview. She’s simply insufferable w the bratty entitlement. I can’t w Monica.

the broad stinks

I listened to most of the episodes on here and love them. Currently listening to the Jenny Garth interview and I've always liked her and now I really feel like I know her. What a lovely person kind of gentle thoughtful and very willing to open up about a lot of struggles that a lot of us deal with as well. Very relatable.

I appreciate her perspective and have admired listening to her come into her own over the years. I can’t imagine how hard she works behind the scenes doing all the other aspects of her job that none of us know about. I notice I have anticipatory sadness for when Dax, Monica and wobby wob retire. Haha The biggest thank you to all three of you (and your other employees we don’t know) for making such great content for us. It is a privilege to get to listen and my world has been expanded and improved countless times.

Monica has ruined the show . It’s unfortunate because Dax is one of the most open minded intellectual family men that I loved to listen to . He is constantly being scolded by Monica and told everything he says or does it wrong . She is insufferable and I leave the show feeling so angry and annoyed which is completely opposite of what Dax brings to the conversation. Unfortunately after this last show of her comparing Jesus and Charles Manson as the same kind of guy for her ghosts dinner party I am out . I am not even religious but this was just off the wall . She is so completely out of touch and immature with her constant flip flopping of what is okay and what isn’t okay daily . I would love to see a show with just Dax one day where we can get back to interviewing scientist and actors and learning like It used to be .

Thank you both for just being YOU and for working hard to not make this about politics. You always make me giggle and somehow manage to educate me at the same time. I thank God for open minded, kind, funny, kind folks like you!

Found it incredibly sad you had to drop the F bomb so much during your Nate Bargatze interview, a man known for being a clean comedian. I won’t be listening again.

I listen to your show(s) while I am working and I love the interactions and interviews. Topics are great for Armcherries! Dax and Monica are the best and I love their banter. Dax, you are awesome and good proof that your past struggles don’t define your value or intelligence as a person. And Monica is keeping it real and very relatable. Keep up the great show team!!

Honestly, I’ve enjoyed the podcast and the variety of great guests but Monica has become increasingly annoying and makes the show harder and harder to listen to. The whiny baby talk is weird.

Monica has become too big for her britches. Dax can’t give any constructive criticism without her piping that she knows the answer, or says that he’s wrong. It’s frustrating. And those who are STILL brining up the JVN episode- drop it: get a life.

Dax and Moni, thank you for the work you do. As a Michigander I love the callouts! (Traverse City/Elk Lake native living in NY - I would def vote for you to be the Cherry Festival Grand Marshall ;). Just listened to the Nate Bergatze interview and I thought I’d take a chance and post. I understand in these incredibly divisive times, you want to appeal to all and not alienate people on either end of the political spectrum. However, it feels as though we are in a moment that transcends politics. At some point, all of us in a position do so have to champion what is good and just and speak up for those who need us. My German-Jewish 95 year old mother-in-law has repeatedly told me this moment has happened before. Good Germans stayed silent for the same reasons good Americans do today. Her Hungarian husband never thought he would be taken as a 13 year old into the camps…he thought fellow Hungarians would never let it happen. He lost his entire family in the Holocaust and was liberated from Dachau at the end of the war weighing 80 lbs. We desperately need our heroes right now. We need you good people to speak up for what is good and sane so we feel a glimmer of hope and to shore up a bulwark against what is happening. Dax, it is time to be the superhero we all know you are. We need protection from the big bully and his group on the playground. I understand why people would be a Republican. I understand and support people having different opinions or beliefs. But people supporting what is going on right now - it saddens and scares me. Don’t you feel the same way?

Overall this show is great. It was tragic to have the head of Instagram come on and pretend like they don’t have extensive research about the harm the platform does and yet choose to do nothing. Embarrass for the show to allow themselves to be used this way.

I rented CHIPS last night bc Michael Fassbender loved it. Its FUNNY. A little dude centric with the nudity but i laughed out loud entire time. Dax you are a comedic gem! Also enjoyed seeing Monica. Keep up the good work; your podcast is intoxicating.

Dax Shepherd made the choice to falsely equate Taylor Swift dating lots of famous men with men generally not being able to date lots of women without negative reaction, when many of the men he mentioned as having had to pay a price have “had relationships” with underage women (girls). And then mentioned his own relationship with a 20-year-old when he was 31. Gross. Be better.

He's nothing more than a real misogynist wrapped in a fake nice guy aw shucks veneer. Stop falling for it people, especially other women. This guy is truly the worst.

Dax, when you talk about growing up with dyslexia on Armchair Expert, it really resonates with me. I’m a mom raising a teenage son with dyslexia, and watching him navigate school while working twice as hard as many of his peers actually led me to change careers. I became a literacy specialist and now run a small practice helping students who are struggling to read but are incredibly capable in so many other ways. One thing I wish more people understood is that dyslexia still doesn’t get the attention it deserves. Too many kids are going unidentified, underserved, or given the wrong interventions. When children don’t learn to read, the consequences can go far beyond school — self-esteem suffers, opportunities shrink, and many never get the chance to discover their real gifts. This might sound heavy, but I’m sure the conversation could also be fun and real. You’ve already had guests like Jennifer Aniston on the show who have talked about dyslexia, and it’s powerful when people share their journeys openly. I would love the opportunity for my son and me to join you on the podcast to talk about what dyslexia really looks like from both perspectives — a teenager living it and a parent who turned that experience into helping other kids. I have been a loyal listener after searching the podcast app for “Will Arnett “ ❤️ about 4 years ago. Please don’t take offense, I just find him (even before Smartless) so wicked hilarious! Something about a quick and clever comedic personality with intelligence is so compelling, and so obvious. (although Theo Von is very funny for the opposite reason 🤫) However, I feel like I know you better because you fall into that “Will” category but with an extremely high emotional intelligence that is staggering for a hetero male ( with alcoholism)❣️ And that makes you so unique with your openness and ability to see yourself, and your family, so objectively. I’m hoping you ignore all negative reviews- some people need to vent- and you’re a safe target 🎯. I’m almost 10 years sober, and have been through it! Dax’s comment that people who play D&D or enjoy “nerdy” content like Star Trek are the type who “want to be in another world” where a “fantasy version of themselves is celebrated” really misses the mark for me. As a woman who plays D&D, I see it as collaborative storytelling — role-playing with a group of friends to build something creative together. I’m not playing a fantasy version of myself to be celebrated. I’m playing a character. That’s the point. His comment leans into the tired trope that people who enjoy nerdy things are socially inept or somehow less “normal” or “dateable.” Is there some escapism in D&D? Of course. But with everything going on in the world, who wouldn’t welcome a few hours around a table with like-minded people, telling an exciting — sometimes heartbreaking — story in a safe space? D&D isn’t about pretending to be a better version of yourself. It’s about imagination, connection, and shared storytelling.

I know this isn’t the proper channel to do so, but I have a guest suggestion for an Experts on Experts guest. I don’t have any social media so this is the only route I have to potentially reaching you. You really should have James Nester, an expert on breathing, on the pod. I recently listened to a conversation he had with Rich Roll and would love to hear a conversation between him, Dax, and Monica. I also think you would be fascinated with his take what correct breathing can do for you and the potential harmful effects incorrect breathing can have…even on children. Anyway, I appreciate this podcast so much and look forward to my time with y’all each week!

Dax, Monica, and Rob have kept me company through the most mundane chores for the past 7 years and are still my favorite podcast. I highly recommend starting from the beginning!

First time listener here. Love Chris Stapleton but the editing out of the dead spaces in thier conversation was disconcerting. There’s something to be said for the natural flow of things. Why do that? I’d rather hear a few minutes less but have it be authentic.

Hey “wed h beebee” There are countless podcast on news culture and a lot of them sound the same just as facts as popular podcast doesn’t mean you need to talk about stuff he’s not interested And he may be interested in it. He has kids and a family. I’m sure he worries about this as well. But we need podcast like his a really relatable man to a lot of us men out here how are struggling. Is stories help me.

I wanted to love this— Dax is so arrogant and makes everything about him. Monica is a good balance but I still couldn’t do it.

Dax literally finds it perplexing that a man would respect and revere his significant other bc he can’t fathom doing it himself.

Huge swaths of citizens in this country are reeling from the violence and aggression they’re seeing from their own government on other human beings, and it’s not being discussed. With a platform as large and wide reaching as yours, saying nothing on the matter feels irresponsible and out of touch. Disheartened in the lack of acknowledgement from more public figures such as yourselves, especially those in Hollywood who paint themselves as more and more isolated in the safety of their wealth from the issues of everyday Americans.

I had to stop listening when Monica confidently declared that the word “kickback” is Gen Z slang. We were calling parties “kickbacks” back when I was 15…in 2003.

I’ve been listening to an episode a day to catch do not being cool for years. I must be listening to frequently because I’ve started to find the, “ding, ding, ding’s…” and references to the “sim” annoying. But I won’t stop. That’s it. Ok. Love you.

I’m a big fan of armchair anonymous on road trips, but even those have the ever-present element of Dax making it about him right away when he tries to claim knowledge about someone’s location. The Elizabeth Smart episode was just shameful. Dax just couldn’t stop himself from bringing up his own sexual trauma and making it about him, again. And the sheer number of f-bombs he dropped was just so disrespectful to his guest. I’m not sure if there was a condition that required him to talk only about her Netflix documentary, but since we can watch that ourselves, I was only listening in hopes that he would ask her to share more about her experiences reintegrating into normal life and what she’s doing now. Very disappointing overall.

Found myself listening to an old 2023 episode today and the context is very interesting given the current political environment in 2026. I love Armchair Anonymous and generally enjoy most AE episodes, skipping the celebs I don’t have as much of an interest in and listening to only a select few Experts on Expert episodes. I found the JVN episode to be troublesome. Dax and JVN had a very good and honest discussion about gender, particularly highlighting intersex and transgender individuals. It was hard for me to listen to how uncomfortable JVN became. He clearly is so passionate and knowledgeable about the subject matter (as he is about many things - he spews off facts the entire episode and is so bright!). But he was brought to tears talking about how exhausting it is to always have to defend the rights of young children who just want to be who they are. I thought he made some excellent points. Dax and him didn’t see eye to eye and I agree that we have to find a way to have productive discussions with people who have opposing views. But I thought with JVN being a guest on the show, sharing his time generously, and being absolutely gracious before and after that portion of the conversation (a lesser person would have walked off), there should have been a little more empathy shown. I also found it interesting that the fact check was largely clear of any discussion about the uncomfortable conversation. Dax made it a point to say that JVN and his husband stayed for a long time after the interview and that they had a lovely time together, seemingly trying to smooth it over. But if you’re going to go to that extent with a guest, I feel like you should at least own it. The fact check should have included a debrief and maybe some discussion about how to move forward. It felt cowardly to me. Not asking Dax (or anyone) to change their views, but to have an open mind and acknowledge his guest’s point of view and that he made his guest cry. The editing around the crying was interesting too. Perhaps the fact check edited a good amount of follow up discussion out too so as not to cause controversy. But you owe your guest, listeners, and the non-binary community more than what was offered.

You guys are the best! Thanks for being you. Anyone who listens knows you’re amazing.

Being the narcissists that Monica and Dax are, they could not connect with Chris Stapleton. Chris is a class act, and the hosts are just embarrassing to listen to - unknowledgeable and disconnected. I used to enjoy this podcast, but the hosts have become insufferable.

Super interesting every time. Keeps me wanting more!! I’m obsessed with true crime typically but this pod has re-wired my brains pleasure center. You both are so authentic and have such an honest and viby rapport. Monica your demeanor in juxtaposition to Dax reminds me so much of Robin/ Howard dynamic. Truly great! Also .. loved Beth’s Dead. That needs to win something.

Thanks for having Elon on. He speaks a lot of truth and he truly is a genius who helped so many disadvantaged people with cell phone and satellites.His humanity knows no bounds and is underrated. I also enjoyed Monica’s podcast that she did and decided to come back to armchair expert. I’m not a big fan of the way. Dax talks about his young daughters. There are way too many creeps in the world and in Hollyweird..protect your girls at all costs. But Monica’s podcast that she did called Beth Ted was brilliant and I really enjoy her work!
