When topic moves beyond tech, the insight and analysis offered by some of the most famous guests is incredibly underwhelming.

What is this? Horrible technology podcast that keeps sprinkling political commentary in the episodes. Smart people? Sure. Do I want to hear your opinions on history and politics? Absolutely not.

This show was recommended to me as a deep dive into modern issues with a bit of perspective from investors. Turns out, it’s just right wing propaganda masked as intelligent dialogue. It’s not overt, but the racist attacks on a current New York City mayoral candidate in the most recent episode made it obvious who these people really are.

I predict tech breaks the world, “never think that something will stop growing (Katherine)”.

think it’s absolutely sickening that this podcast, which I originally followed for insights into technology and startup culture, has revealed itself as a platform for bro fascism and technocratic authoritarianism. Instead of critically examining Doge and companies like Palantir which are actively complicit in surveillance, oppression, and even genocide, it is out here applauding them. This is how fascism creeps in, sanitized through TED Talk tones and startup worship, all in the name of efficiency. These people are not visionaries, they are just showing their complete lack of a moral compass. You are not just reporting on tech, you are co signing oppression. Disgusting.

Oh Marc, sweetie. You made a bad bet. It’s okay, it happens to all of us. You got so obsessed with being anti woke that you forgot to consider literally any other issue. As we all watch our retirements disappear as the Trump Slump sets in amidst a pointless trade way, as our European allies feel us turn away and start to build up their supplies in what will surely be a new age of nuclear weapon proliferation, it’s time to say it: Marc, honey, this was a terrible choice. It’s time to speak up, as an American, and admit this isn’t working. Don’t let your bruised ego override your common sense, we NEED you to speak up. Otherwise, this country will no longer be a place any of us will want to start a business.

it’s pretty obvious that this company has heavily invested in AI and Crypto and it’s looking to justify the ROI. AI can’t solve world peace or bring egg prices or prevent spread of bird flu in California diaries

Used to enjoy these podcasts, but backing Trump makes the whole thing gross.

Used to be a great podcast for insights on innovation, holistic disruptive thinking, and actual innovation. After a number of departures 2 or so years ago, everything has gone sideways. Has gone from a must listen to actively being counter productive to listen to. Such a shame. And such a waste that they’ve gone so far off the rails.

This podcast is a must-listen for its insightful discussions at the crossroads of technology, business, and culture. Steph is a super engaging host, and they have a diverse range of industry expert guests that make complex topics accessible and fascinating for all.

Most of the advice doesn’t hold up after the easy money stopped.

Excellent interview with Joon Park, thank you, your team at a16z is setting up a very important link between human behavior and generative AI, digital/interpretive behavioral modeling and other types of large language processing designs to close the gap between the vast complexity of neurobiological processes that leads to specific behavioral expressions and codifying and encapsulating that in a generative AI system, looking forward to more of those types of episodes that also address specific behavior such as violence and anger and aggression to highlight research teams around the world working on better understanding of how to intervene and treat aggressive behavior in order to create more peaceful individual and societal behavior.

Love the three part series on the AI revolution. Just listed to the 2nd part (third not out yet) and the conversation form folks doing the work like Mira (OpenAI) and others from Roblox and Anthropic is great. Deeper is better and a series let’s you do that better than a single podcast.

I’m amazed at how much I learn from this podcast and its breadth of subjects. I’m a long-time technologist from computing and aerospace domains, which are now so broad that it’s hard to wrap your mind around them. The recent “satellite economy” series particularly surprised me in the amount of depth brought to important aspect of the subject.
