Simon Talks as I Listen and Smile
I’m listening to We All Get Cancelled someday and literally laughing out loud. I’m a regular subscribed listener and love how well Simon adapts to his guests and allows them to share their perspectives with his guidance and active listening. I have several favorite episodes and frequently share with friends and my mentees in the leadership programs I run. This show reliably captivates my thoughts and provides inspiration and new perspectives.

Wonderful
Simon is a phenomenally gifted speaker and host. I absolutely adore this podcast and the way in which he engages his guests. I just wish the episodes were longer!

Very interesting
I always enjoy all the work you do. Also, hearing that your career was an accident. I think we can counted as a fortunate accident. Since you’re educating me at least and I’m sure many others. Thank you again.

General Comment
I love Simon’s points of view and the guests he has on the podcast. However, I would much rather read his books than listen to him. He ends up interrupting his guests in order to make his own points. And a lot of the time he just repeats himself. He also does this on other people’s podcasts where he is the guest. Maybe it’s done out of excitement but I can’t stand it as it doesn’t give the other person the time to finish their thoughts and therefore we miss out on aspects the other person’s point of view.

Love this podcast!
I have thoroughly enjoyed this podcast for years now and especially enjoy the honest, thought-provoking talks with Simon’s guests. From Melinda French Gates, Lewis Howes, and Jay Shetty, but my favorites have to be the trio of Simon, Berne Brown and Adam Grant all together! I recommend A Bit of Optimism podcast to family and friends constantly. Thanks to Simon and his team for making this and continuing to inspire and keeping things real and attainable!

Nice work Siman
You have opened my eyes and my mind to so many new possibilities. Thank you for that. And I know it’s a long shot - but I would love to have you on my show as a guest someday. I’m being “optimistic” 😉

Maria Shriver
Although I am a subscriber, I have avoided listening to Simon’s podcasts for months. All I can say is - wow! Maria speaks my language and this conversation touched me in a profound way. Thank you both. ❤️

The lack of view points is too much
I respect Simon but you all have to get more view points on this podcast for your own growth.
White male misogynistic views need to evolve and you’re not on here. I can’t listen anymore.

Every episode is quality
Some podcasts you listen to for ten minutes and there is about one minute of good content. Not this one. This podcast is filled with high quality content, excellent storytelling and true thought provoking concepts that leave me challenged in the best ways. This podcast makes me want to be a better leader, a better partner and a better friend. Thanks to Simon and his team for leading the discussions that matter.

Hello sunshine
Hi. I absolutely love this show, its host, the guest, and conversation topics. The only complaint is how low Simon speaks much of the time. It does make it difficult to listen and learn at times. I know that the show is about optimism, but I’m holding optimistic belief that clear voices will show up soon. 😉

Sound too low
The content is great, but the sound volume is lower than other podcasts, and when I turn it up for this one, the autoplay for the next one is so jarring. Can you adjust your volume to be like other podcasts?

Volume issues
For the high quality production, work on the volume. It’s horrendous trying to hear the episode on the death doula

Simon and Trevor are my spirit animals
I can’t get over how I felt seen while listening to the « Trevor Hurts My Brain » episode. The bit on finding a corner or a buffet is exactly what I do. Reading books??? I used to buy haven’t in years. Small talk? I struggle and seek deep conversations but after hearing this episode, it has made me think differently of how I will use it to interact with the world around me. Thank you!

Interview with Mel Robbins
I appreciate Mel Robbin’s wisdom. I have followed her off and on for quite a while.
Simon, I love the way you hear, absorb, and allow the person talking to communicate with just one or two words from you to continue. You are such a nice man.
Thank you for the podcast.

Inviting an antisemite and calling it a bit of optimism is not optimistic and very antisemitic. Unfollowed

Good, but…
I like Simon. I like what he stands for, that he’s a big thinker, that he brings some different ideas into the conversation.
But, I think that this podcast is mis-named, and I find myself challenged to listen to it. Simon is a little *too* energetic at times, and he’s prone to tangents, and mostly what I come away from this show feeling is that we have many answers to making the world better but continue to make stupid choices.

Listen
I generally enjoy this podcast and I have never written a podcast review but felt compelled after the episode with Dr. Mark Hyman. I was excited to hear Dr. Hyman speak but Simon talked over him the entire interview. Dr. Hyman tried several times to interject and get the conversation back on track and Simon kept interrupting, talking over him and going on rants. Incredibly frustrating and disappointing. A host should guide the conversation and let the guest be the voice of the episode.

Captivating
His humanity and passion stands out. He’s remarkable.

Not only inspirational… but aspirational
Simon and his guests bring forth so many ideas that we as humans need these days. Not just as a light in the darkness, but as something to move towards and to be able to take action on in order to grow that light.

Thought-provoking and important conversations!
This is such important content for our world today. Thank you, Simon for your gift that you share in such a positive and intentional way. I consider you to be a conversation partner, through this medium, in my life journey. I would love to discuss these kind of ideas over a bourbon with you some time.

Phenomenal in so Many Ways
Love how Simon has such an awesome array of guests and who dive into the depths of ways for high performance, optimism and positive life. The ‘Why Guy’ has been a blessing to us all 👍

A recipe for human kind
I came across this particular podcast, A bit of Optimism, in my early stages of “kicking the tires” on the whole podcast thing. What I instantly took away was a bit of optimism wasn’t all sunshines and rainbows, but the process, the recipe for finding the light in a dim, dismal, complex scenario. When life is lifing this podcast helped me have handlebars for how to approach those experiences. Through seeing the journey others went through it gave me perspective on how and why things might pivot and cause me to do so. When you gain perspective you gain a way to see why more grace, patience, listening, stepping back and leaning in are all part of the flow of understanding others, therefor understanding yourself more. I highly recommend this podcast in a world that can be so focused on just the muck and mud and not the strengths that come from that.

Challenging thinking
Each guest challenges my thinking in so many ways. I recommend this podcast often to fellow workers, and many of our graduate students.
Thanks for choosing these wonderful guests.

Wisdom for Today’s World of Pain
Great guests. Great conversations. My only criticism is that Simon interrupts his guests too often while they are in the middle of sharing their perspective and wisdom. Often, it feels like he needs to insert his two cents out of some type of inferior complex. It is rude and disrespectful to his guests and his listeners.

Possibly my favorite human…
Let me clarify… my wife and kids are at the top of my favorite humans list, but Simon is right up there with them. i’ve been a long time fan of Simon‘s work, both written and audio. The content he puts out with clever insight, simple instruction, and the optimism this world needs; is brilliant.

I just listened to the April 9th podcast “We cannot Heal Alone” and OMG! Simon, I loved your interpretation on service and how to show up. There is so many gems in this podcast and I plan to listen to it multiple times. I have been trying to figure out how to demonstrate that the lonely is being seen and walked away with so many ideas. You shined bright today. I hope you will consider having Rabbi Brous on again. There was great synergy between the two of you.

A Bit of Optimism is a beacon of light in a sometimes dark world. With his trademark wisdom and empathy, Simon engages in meaningful conversations with incredibly inspiring individuals. From discussions about love and life to leadership and finding the silver lining, each episode leaves you with a renewed sense of hope and purpose. This show is undoubtedly a must-listen!

A bit of optimism is so much more.
Simon and team, thank you. I listen to your podcast every morning on my walk. You transport me to places and touch on ideas that are fuel for my mind and soul. I learn something everyday. From the last podcast, the concept of Delta. Seeing how far you have come. Your podcast reminds me of the Anne Murray song. A little good news. We all need a bit more optimism in our lives and you all deliver it. Thank you!

Interesting conversation w/walmart
The CEO from Walmart maybe a bit naive. Or maybe this is intentional PR move. The Walton family has not ever struck me as caring two craps about the towns they destroyed along the way. So all that fluff wry stuff y’all talked about sounds kinda dumb when they devastated so much of our economy and moved it to China almost single-handed

No longer listening
I have been a huge fan for many years and was excited to find the podcast at the beginning of 2022. I’m unfollowing and no longer weekly listening, because of the amount of ads. This show used to have 0 ads and now its pushing product and companies during some very important conversations. If an interview comes out that I’m interested in, I’ll search it independently.

Thought Provoking, Enlightening and Uplifting
Never thought I would do a podcast review but here I am doing one. Simon’s podcast has become a part of my daily exercise routine. I literally look forward to listen while I ride. They are so enlightening and thought provoking that in a way it is as if you are in a personal development class! Most of all it is the positive effect it has on my mindset to that appreciate. I find myself looking forward to the question you ask each person to tell a happy story as you so succinctly sum how their story reflect their views point and approach to life.
Thanks Simon for making my day and life better.

Amazing Discussion
The 2 part conversation with Brené Brown and Adam Grant was awesome on so many levels. It is my new favorite podcast episode of all the different thought leaders that I listen to and I look forward to hearing more. There are so many insights into the way each person thinks and how the group reconciles what they hear. Thank you for putting this together Simon Sinek!

Politics
Don’t be scared off if your politics disagree with Simon’s. He has a beautiful way of understanding people’s basic human emotions that manifest itself differently for different people…
