Tim - a Wicked Smart listener recently emailed me asking, "How do I get in the zone (and stay there more often)?"

Which is one of the best mental golf questions... ever! The zone is a mythical thing for so many golfers but chances are you've been in the zone before.

The zone or flow state is where great golf happens. The first step to getting in the zone is understanding it. Wikipedia did a great job summing up what is the zone,

"The mental state in which a person performing some activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity. In essence, flow is characterized by the complete absorption in what one does, and a resulting transformation in one's sense of time.

Flow is the melting together of action and consciousness; the state of finding a balance between a skill and how challenging that task is. It requires a high level of concentration; however, it should be effortless."

To get in the zone more often you need a good routine, to learn your Mental Golf Type, and use tips mentioned in GYRA Golf. I go deep on this episode to share my best tips to get in the zone and play your best golf.
