Photographing Ireland, New Lens Announcements



Jason is back from leading a photo enthusiasts tour of Ireland, and we’ll discuss the experience. There was a raft of new lenses announced recently, too, and we’ll give our takes on them, including:




* Sony 85mm f/1.8 GM II



* Canon 28-70mm f/2.8



* Nikon 50mm f/1.4




Jason’s Dual-Purpose Travel Kit



In Ireland, Jason had both a visible (OM-1 Mark 2) and infrared (Olympus E-M5 MarkII camera, but was able to use both with a pair of very small zoom lenses:




* OM System 14-150mm f/4-5.6 (equivalent to a 28-300mm in 35mm format)



* OM System 9-18mm f/4-5.6 (35mm equivalent: 18-36mm)




While neither lens is particularly fast, this tiny kit gives you an effective range of 18-300mm and weighs in at under 1 lb which is just perfect when traveling.
