The New York Mets have gone 17 straight innings without a run, and they dropped the opener of this series, 4-0. 

The offense remains the story for the Mets, mustering up six hits and no real threat against JT Ginn and the A's pitching staff. 

Another story from this one is Clay Holmes. Holmes took the ball into the 6th, but left with what the team called hamstring tightness. 

Now with their losing streak at three, the Mets will try again tomorrow afternoon to find answers to their offensive woes and get back into the win column.
