For the second straight time out, David Peterson struggled early as the Mets saw their win streak snapped in a 7-2 loss.
Peterson struggled with his sinker once again and gave up 5 runs over the first two innings of this one. He did settle down to retire 11 of the final 12 he faced, but the damage was already done.
The Mets offense didn't haven an answer for Ryne Nelson, who just overwhelmed them this afternoon with fastballs. They were able to put together some attempts of a rally late, but nothing really serious developed. A lone bright spot may be Bo Bichette's bat. He picked up his third multi hit game in the last five.
It'll be a WBC final rematch tomorrow night, with Nolan McLean matching up against Eduardo Rodriguez for the D-backs.
