A trio of mental miscues doomed the New York Mets, as they were shutout for the first time this season in a 3-0 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals.
Kodai Senga got the start for the Mets tonight, and all things considered, it was a great start to his 2026 season. However, a pair of mental mistakes by Luis Robert Jr in centerfield set the stage for the Cardinals to take an early lead.
The miscues carried over to the offense, as Bo Bichette was doubled up on a line-drive Mason Winn to end the lone Mets threat offensively.
It'll be up to Freddy Peralta to try and secure the series W for the Mets tomorrow afternoon.
