The New York Mets, behind some dominant pitching, opened up their series against the St. Louis Cardinals with a 4-2 win.
It started with Clay Holmes, who found some trouble in the first but settled in nicely and was almost able to finish six solid innings. Then it was the bullpen that picked up the baton and continued the dominance. Tobias Myers gave the Mets multiple innings of work and Devin Williams picked up his first save as a New York Met.
Offensively it was a good night for Bo Bichette, who drove in a pair of runs. Jared Young, in his first start of the year, added an RBI double of his own.
Kodai Senga takes the bump tomorrow, making his season debut and trying to secure the Mets their second straight series victory.
