Behind 17 hits and another great performance from Juan Soto, the New York Mets defeated the Detroit Tigers, 12-5.
It's just a simple truth at this point. The Mets have a championship caliber offense right now. Despite weeks worth of struggles, this offense has been the best in baseball since the beginning of August.
Leading that charge is Juan Soto, who added another home run as part of a two -hit game making it 37 for the season.
And let's not forget about tonight's starter, Nolan McLean. The first inning saw him give up two runs behind a number of walks. McLean settled down and was back to looking dominate. He finished the night setting down 14 straight Tigers and finished the night with 7 K's.
They go for the sweep tomorrow afternoon, with Clay Holmes on the mound.
