The New York Mets returned to Milwaukee for the first time since the NL Wild Card last year, but they fell in the opener by a final of 3-2.
You know the drill by now. The Mets offense struggled. Their starter, Kodai Senga, was unable to get through six innings of work and a defensive miscue proved to be the difference.
Lately it has been the same story for the Mets and this evening was no different. A pair of solo home runs from Juan Soto and Starling Marte got the team out in front and Senga was cruising through his first four innings of work.
It was the 5th inning where everything fell apart, all started with a fielding error by Senga and then a two-run home run from Brice Turang to tie things up.
The Mets were unable to get anything going after that and now have lost 9 of their last 10.
