To combat another terrible news cycle for Trump, he had his DOJ finally get around to filing their “emergency” appeal through the dreaded Shadow Docket to the Supreme Court to try for the 3rd time to remove Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook from her 14-year tenured position so that Trump can gain control of the Fed’s rate-setting mechanism. Michael Popok takes a hard look at the new filing, including its reliance on Trump’s criminal immunity decision and its ignoring the Supreme Court’s decision in May that protects Lisa Cook from just such a firing.
