-22. In these verses, Paul commands the Ephesians to remember where they were apart from Christ— separated from Him and His people and His promises— and thus without God and without hope. And yet, Christ has won peace with God and others through His death on the cross. As a result, the Ephesians believers, and all who trust Christ, are citizens of God’s kingdom, members of His household, even His very dwelling place, because the work of Christ has been applied to our lives.
